How about it? I generally can look at a guy and tell if he is a catfisherman or carp man. Like YTB, it just sticks out like a sore thumb and you know he has bought more chicken liver in one season than most of us will see in a life time.

The long rod is also noticeable. They also walk and talk funny and the smell is a dead give away

Seems there's a slightly higher incidence of mullet hair-do's amongst this bunch as well. Ever notice that?

YTB, when the crawdads start to shed, I'll catch some and give you a yell. We can wear out the catfish at Sky Lake in Chessie on a weeknight.
I don't talk none when I'm catfishing. Dead serious all the time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ i see nothing wrong with saying this, i'm not racial. i have a black son. i've wanted to say this about carp. when i was a youngun, we used to river fish for carp. we would sell them to several old blackmen, for 1$ a lb. they would come buy them nearly everyday they saw us fishing. they said they were great , if fixed right. we ate with one of the fellers one day and ate carp. i don't know how exactly they fixed it, but it was great.

YTB. Try this recipe.
You take a medium size carp...about 9 lbs... and scale it and take out the entrails.
Next you get a piece of cardboard and cut it the size of a 12x18 cookie sheet and soak the cardboard in olive oil. Then sprinkle it with lemon pepper salt and cinnemon and place it on your cookie sheet. Lay your carp on the cookie sheet.
Place it on the middle rack of your oven for about 2 hours @ 350 degrees (turning it about every 20 minutes).
At the end of 2 hours (or when the carp has turned a nice golden color) you take it out of the oven and throw the carp away and eat the cardboard.
AWESOME !!!
