Funny Grayson Lake Story

Friday, I found that I was goin' to get to go fishing that evening after all. It was getting kinda late so I just headed to Grayson Lake. I get there and there's only a couple of boats on the water. As I'm launching, there's 3 guys in one big huge bass boat putting their boat up. I get to talking to them and they're telling me now disgusted they were. They said they'd been there all day long and only caught a handful of dinkers and were headed back home. I ask where is home at and they tell me it's north of Columbus and I'm thinking and soon asking, why they're fishing Grayson and the man tells me that 'My cousin told me it was a big trophy lake, very hot and a great place to get a trophy bass' Well, I about fell backwards out of my boat. It was all I could do to not burst out laughing when I asked them man was he serious. That caused him to be horse laughed by the two young men (probably his sons) that were with him. He then asked me was that not true? You should have seen his face as I told him how bad fishing was there and how often times an all night tournament will be won with 1 or 2 fish weighed in total! He then shared how that they had drove all the way from north of Columbus (gas at $3.59 a gal mind you) and bought temporary Kentucky fishing license just to fish the trophy lake Grayson.
Poor Guy! too funny! had to share! ............sounds like something Oz would do to Big Orange One!

I can't believe you had that guy waiting on me to tell me it was ok to run my outboard! man, that was cold trying to get me busted like that.
On a more serious note..why? why in the world are they making people wait till then to idle their outboards? who in the world would really write someone a citation for it now?

I would.

Why can't you big boys with your big toys be satisfied to keep your PT 109's on the unlimited HP big lakes and romp from one end of the lake to the other in 6.9 seconds flat and leave the ponds for the common poor fisherman?
Some people (hawgs) just want it all.
That's just another reason I fry up all the trophy bass *** I catch to a golden brown and have them on a sammich.
*** Trophy bass = anything over 10 inches or big enough to fillet.

Ozzie said on another thread:

i've fished grayson since i was prolly 3 years old and every trip i've went and caught nice bass not the greatest but i've caught my share of monsters out of there. The guys that fish those tourny's they don't even know where the fish hang, i've got my sweet spots and i'm sure you all have yours but i'll give you all a hint, Weaping Willow.... Maybe one of these days i'll take out my grandpa's boat out on the lake and win a me a tourny :D
