Jackie Boggs wins feature and championship 8/1 at RTR

Post by Layne99L »

Great night of racing tonight! Drivers could run anywhere on the track, it had a really fast cushion the entire night. Jackie Boggs clinched at least a share of the Late Model track championship. As long as Boggs starts the feature next Friday, he will be the single champion. If Boggs scores no points and Hicks would win, Boggs and Hicks would tie for the title. Wayne Hughes clinched the Bomber track championship.

Next Friday, August 8th we will have our last Friday night race of the season. On the card will be the "Les Boggs for Lawrence County Commissioner" Twin 25's with Tomahawk Race Car Modifieds going 25 laps for $1,000 to win, Mod Lites going 25 laps for $500 to win, Bombers going 15 laps for $500 to win (Courtesy of Les Boggs for County Commissioner), and Late Models going 30 laps for $2,000 to win. This will be the final points race of the season.

If the races would happen to get rained out on August 8th, we will come back and run on Saturday night, August 9th. If that would happen to be the case, all the above advertised purses would stand with the exception of the Mod Lite special. Mod Lites would run for a regular purse on the 9th, but would have their special on September 6th, the first race of our fall Saturday night schedule.

We are racing next Friday, August 8th (rain date August 9th) and then taking a month off and coming back on Saturday, September 6th. From there we will run anywhere from 2-4 more races which will be announced at a later time.

It is early to close, but competing against high school football on Friday night's can usually be disasterous crowd wise.
