Does the Trout Derby at Roosevelt, Shawnee, and Turkey Creek lakes still exist? If so does anyone know the dates?
I used to love going there, when I was in high school, but have not had the chance since I went in the Military,and moved away.
Most of the time I didn't do alot of fishing back then, but the beaver hunting was tremendous. Did I just say that?
Since then I have learned to fish ,and might enjoy coming home for that weekend.

Anglers flock to the shores of Turkey Creek Lake in Shawnee State Park on the last weekend in April to catch their share of the thousands of stocked trout. Prizes are awarded. Camping and special programs are available.


the beaver hunts are still fun for us, we just cant be as selective, as back in the day.

Surely can relate to the beaver hunting issues, but it's still fun to look and hope. .
Thanks for the info. It might be possible to make this event, and maybe catch a little Trojan baseball in the process.
