Re: Manchester @ Western....2-17
Saw Western play a couple of times, they have a nice team and could make a god run into the tournament.
Re: Manchester @ Western....2-17
I think both teams have the ability to make a nice tourney run but only if they play as hard on deffense as they do on offense they both have decent hight and speed and at least 3 or 4 possible 20 pt scorers on there rosters but at tourney time you have to be able to make key deffensive stands western has been really impriveing at this in the second half of the year .Manchesters boys i think were to disapointed in there tourney draw and it has showed in there games since the draw when they were very upset by the seating.Boys dont sweat it get back on track and playing to your ability.Im a WESTERN fan and my boys play jr high there but i still want yoy guys to do well come tourney time i cheer for all the boys in this area to do well and take the respect of the big city schools.

I don't think the seeding has affected Manchester. I just think they have played better teams than them since. Peebles and North Adams ain't too shabby. Ripley is the only game I can think that would have been a let down. They should have no way taken MHS to the wire at home! I'm beginning to think they are possibly a little overrated. We will see tonight.

Re: Manchester @ Western....2-17
Western needs to come out and shut Manchester down and prove a point that the SOC is not as weak as what the Manchester folks think they are.

Manchester Won by 15 i dont remember the final score but Manchester lead just about the hole game
both team showed really good sportsmanship in the game helping each outhe up and such this was a good win for Manchester after the weenkend they had. Manchester's 3 big men played a very good game def & off
Now who deserves the #1 seed ????????????????????

Re: Manchester @ Western....2-17
If you think Western should not be rated the #1 seed over Manchester then you were proven correct tonight.
However, Manchester needs to worry and focus there attention to preparing for South Webster. The Jeeps will not be an easy win in the Sectional Final. If they are fortunate enough to win that one the Waterford Wildcats and there 6' 11'' center will likely await them in the Convo and will be another tall task. Oh win that one and its the #4 ranked Oak Hill Oaks in District Final. Whats done is done so enjoy the win tonight but a lot of work remains for the Greyhounds.

Where are all the SOC posters now? This win just proves that Manchester, Whiteoak, and Fairfield got the shaft. Those 3 are probably the top 3 teams in their sectional. Too bad that SOC politics has 2 of these teams playing each other in the opening game of the tournament.

Re: Manchester @ Western....2-17
Good win for Manchester. However, it was 1 game. As for all of the SOC downgrading, Eastern Pike beat SOutheastern tonight and East beat West. I am sure that this is not an all inclusive list of non-league wins, but I know for a fact that the SOC 1 has 1 win versus the OVC, 3 versus the SVC (over-rated), and at least 1 tonight versus the SOC2.
Manchester is good, but playing Western again, Eastern, or East will not be a walk in the park for them at the Convo should it ever happen (Don't have a bracket handy). So, celebrate the 1 win as that is exactly what it is: 1 win!
Congrats Manchester!

Sounds like everyone has Manchester playing South Webster before they beat Green.I'm going to say Green upsets Webster in the sectional and then it will be over for them after that Theres not many Green faithful giving them much of a chance either from what I have read. Webster better watch out

Re: Manchester @ Western....2-17
For Manchester to go in and win in this kind of fashion say's a lot about the SOC!! I mean it's senior night for the Indians at home, you shouldn't let anybody come into your place and dominate you the way the hounds dominated the Indians for 32 minutes! As the announcer for Western introduced the Indians as "The SOC 1 Champions, best team in Western's history, SOC player of the year, Regional final team please welcome your 2008-2009 Western Indians!!" Well after all that talk the Greyhounds of Manchester did all the talking after that! Holding Shanks (aka) SOC player of the year to two points at halftime the Greyhounds dominated every phase of the game! Smithson had a great game though for the Indians and showed a lot of sportsmanship on the court which I commend! The Greyhounds had a lot of kid's step up tonight with 11 players who scored in the game compared to the Indians who only had 4! However the Hounds can't stop here they have a couple games left to get ready before tourney time! Western knew what they had coming to them when they were making excuses of why this game did not mean anything! If you ask me every time you step on the court that game means something especially if your a senior and your last game at home! But that goes to show that Western knew they didn't deserve the #1 seed! But that is all dust in the wind now and means nothing! Good luck to the hounds and every single S.H.L team in the tournament this year! I hope they all go far!!
Western #1
Manchester #2 hahahahaha
You have to love politics!!
Western #1
Manchester #2 hahahahaha

Well to me it looks like Manchester has gotten over it, moved on, and continued to play ball! By the way they won tonight! But it seems like Manchester does all of there talking on the floor! And no one is crying, just proving a point to all of you SOC fan's!! But you can't stand it!
