Congrats to the Minford players and staff on a 13-7 finish, but as CMo said you are 0-0 now and we still BELIEVE. This group of seniors are special and capable of putting together a tourney run. Sean Smith, Caleb Smith, Hugh Brisker, Zach Gahm, and Evan Price, it was been a joy to be around you guys these past 4 years, but this isn't over, your not done. Its tourney time, and you all are more than capable being the leaders you guys are of making a journey in the tournament. Best of luck to both teams in the tourney.

The coach from Valley definetly deserves coach of the year in the soc, has to be one of the bigger turn arounds in a long time in the league. Vegas wouldn't even take the bet that Valley would end up 2nd and have 16 wins on the year!

I'll tell you what. No disrespect to any of the coaches in this conference at all, but I agree. We didn't win the SOC 2, but after watching these kids all year, I feel like we did. Great job coach V and co.

The reason he deserves the award in my opinion is he was able to get the kids to play 32 minutes for 20 games. Even at Oak Hill when the score was ugly they were playing hard. There is some things that I disagree with on his coaching (not in a bad way) but you can't argue results. It was a great turn around by the 2nd best Valley team in the last 10-15 years.

I have to agree with everyone else, Coach V does deserve coach of the year. He has this team playing with the max effort and the right attitude. He also pushes them academically, which is the best thing a coach can do.
now to the game...

The Indians came out strong. Utley was UNSTOPPABLE! He was amazing to watch last night. Arbaugh has struggled at times to hit the 3 this season but he really came out to play and knocked down some big shots. Treg Cunningham is the BEST point guard in the league, i say that because he always has control of the game and he really keeps this team going. After the Arbaugh technical, which i didnt agree with at all, Treg confronted the official right in front of where i was sitting and kindly asked what happened. The officail explained, and he said thank you sir and walked away. Now to the Price kid, Yes he is a good ball player i have to agree. BUT, that kid needs to get his attitude straight. With 10 sec left you shouldn't push a kid to the floor fouling them, especially when your down 15. That was VERY uncalled for and the minford coach didnt seem to think otherwise when he was benched due to that being his 5th foul. He really deserved to be thrown out for that one, in my opinion. Other than that that was a very exciting game to watch! Good luck Indians and Falcons in the tourny!

Your are correct. I just took a look at minfords website to correct myself. It was Mcknight who committed that foul. Sorry for the mistake. Price was number 2, Mcknight was number 3. Thanks for the correction, I accidentally put 2 people together as one. Anyways, now that i have that straight. Price did a good job of handling the ball, he's a quick little guy. Hugh Brisker impressed me also, he hit some nice turn-arounds.

Both of these teams will have a few games ahead of them- SOC will see Minford, Valley, Burg, Oak Hill, and possibly even Waverly in the convo!
