Micheal Cheesbro from Peebles was pretty close to that in the late 90's, it really wasnt that big of a factor as he currently sits in 4th place on our all time scoring list at like 1288pts.

Cheez is a friend of mine and while I doubt he would care how tall you say he is... I'll just have to correct you tribe
and let you know that he's a little taller than that and was when he played. His whole team was small when he played but they beat teams nobody thought that they would. They were the most exciting team to watch since Bruce Arnold and that bunch of boys. ( Evans, Meade, Reed, etc.....)

He was a great player, but he was also VERY close to that mark.

He's talking about Ashton Miller. I think he might be listed at 5'6" but he's close enough to the 5'5" ....heck of a defender though!!

NY has a freshman who is about 5'1 with boots on. The kid can ball though. He shoots lights out!

Off the topic for Southern, OH, but a 4'10" freshman for Akron St. Vincent St. Mary went 7-7 from 3-ball (in 10 minutes of play)in State Championship game in 2000. Yes Dru Joyce, teammate of Lebron James put himself on the map. Not bad for a "small" guy. Just watched it on "More than a game".

There was a kid from Manchester around 2000 I think his name was Nathan slouch not sure how to spell last name. He was around 5.5

You're right, their other guard Barr was about the same size. I'd say both were around 5'5". Very quick backcourt.

Tommy Graf from Wheelersburg is probably right around the 5'5" range.

south gallia has about 2 of them that start about every year
Re: What was the last school to have a 5'5er in southern Ohio
As a freshman playing for Zane Trace Humpty Hitchens couldn't have been more than 5'7....now is one of Akron's top players.

ironman,
more like high heels.
back in the late 80's or early 90's portsmouth or dayton roth started two guards who were both in the 5'5 to 5'7 range. they were quick and played great full court man to man defense. i can't remember which team had the little guards, it might have been both of them and i don't remember who won. it was the portsmouth holiday tournament. i am sure trojandave can refresh my memory. i think it was december 1990.
