are you sure warren won?...hebb had 6 points 4 fouls and quite a few turnovers... i didn't think they won when he didn't score?...venham had a great night and did just about anything he wanted...cunningham had a bunch of great looks just had a little too much heat on his passes...good luck warriors beat the cavs...

my point was that you cannot claim that because refs are assigned they cannot affect the outcome of a game for the home team because they are not chosen by the school and then claim to see one school have better refs than the other. maybe i don't know how to explain what i want to say but it just seems to contradict itself to me.

Congrats to Warren from this Cavs fan! I for one think Warren has an excellent coach and a very good young squad. You are 1-0 against my Cavs and there is no need to rehash officiating. IMO, Warren played extremely well, and the Cavs played like they did last week (losing twice).

I expect to see alot of good natured banter in threads leading up to Thursday, but from this Cavalier, I just say let the best team win. We have had success at the Convo, so I expect us to play well.

GO CAVS!!! and Good Luck to Warren!

etta09 should know that refs can help at home. Didn't Marietta win all their games at homewith local officials assigned by the league.

The league teams submit a list of officials they want and a list of so many they don't want. The assigner uses that when assigning. I find it funny that people complain when a league hasn't got an assigner and they complain when they do have an assigner. Buddies of the assigner will get the games.

How bout we quit talking so much about what J Hebb does or doesnt do. Give the kid a break, i know that nobody is putting any blame on him for losses, but here's a guy thats done everything asked of him this year and all anyone wants to say is we can win without him. Of course it takes five guys to win a game, we all know that. He's done well with a huge amount of pressure on him this year, he bleeds blue and deserves more respect than what's given to him on here sometimes.

I'm not dissing Hebb in any respect, TT

I was just asking, esp since I can't seem to find a box score anywhere.

understood. it was more directed at bankshot....just venting a little frustration as the blame game with hebb has been a reoccurring theme on here all here.

correct me if i'm wrong but on the previous topic about chillicothe vs warren you left a post complaining about the refs so why can't the rest of us comment about it now. but i guess thats besides the point now. i'll be rooting for warren in this one. one so marietta can beat warren again :122245 and two so marietta doesn't have to play against chili

etta09, I don't think Marietta wants Warren again, you may be too young to know the old saying "one of the hardest things to do in sports is beat a good team 3 times in a row". I'd like to see the third installment but WHS has a monumental task ahead of them Thursday.

it may be hard to beat warren a third time as it would be hard to beat chillicothe at the convo. personally i just think marietta stands more of a chance playing warren at the convo than they do playing chillicothe. obviously neither will be an easy win but we would match up better with warren playing at the convo

So is 10 wins going to be enough for Coach McNeal to hang around. Not to be overly critical, but after watching the Bulldogs several times, i am not so sure they would have won many more than last year had they played in the SEOAL. Just my opinion.

The SEOAL is a bit tougher league than the TVC and i would say your right about the number of wins..

i believe 4 of those wins were against seol opponents werent they. Their team was 4-2 against them.

Athens played against 7 of the teams in their district and ended up going 5-2 i believe. A team with only one senior giving scoring and spartan wants to run the coach out of town. I think he needs to get out of the stands and offer to give some help.

And, when was the last time that an athens team won 10 games? Granted they dropped to different league.

They would have had to be almost perfect in their non-league games.
They were in the North in the SEOAL and after watching them get beaten by the last place team in the North by 20 points I say 0-8 there. They would have had to play Chilli, Ironton, Portsmouth, Gallia, and Jackson, hard to find any more than one win there so that would leave them around 1-12 or 0-13. It would depend if their non-league was against the TVC teams or not, they seemed to do well against.

If they had stayed in the SEOAL I could have seen a 4-16 regular season rather easily.

Not trying to run anybody out of town. Just calling it like i see it. That is why these forms exist. And it appears that most agree with me.

I'd like to answer jumpstop when he said when was the last time Athens won 10 games. Go back to the years with Skinner, Gibson and/or Meek coaching and I'm sure you will find many years the bulldogs won at least 10 games. And they did it in the SEOAL. Don't get me wrong, winning 10 games is a step up from last year, but you are comparing apples to oranges. Needed to get my 2 cents in. :122249

I agree that winning 10 games this year was not a big accomplishment!! I think i would set my goal higher than winning just 10 games playing a TVC schedule!!
