20? Thats it? I was thinking more like 25 or 30. The dogs have no chance. Probably be over by halftime.Ironman92 wrote:Vinton County by 20

Not putting the D on Lutz, let him get his, stop the others.
Going to be a nice DII tournament this year.

This should be a good game. I was planning on watching this one but some things came up.
I'll say

Athens 68

Thats the difference between this athens team & last year. They have other players who can score. 6'3 so. Eli Chubb had 15 in the opener. 6'4 so. Justin Hines was in double figures vs chesapeake & jr. Dalton Cozart was as well & is capable of scoring in the 20's if you collapse on Lutz & defend the paint.thebarlowbandit wrote:Not putting the D on Lutz, let him get his, stop the others.

Griff is simply fantastic.... VC really good. The key is Athens has football tough Robert D and Hines that love to be physical upfront. Very tough They have been in front of huge crowds before and will not get rattled. Cozart's system is very hard to match up with. Very very close knit team. Athens will be even better when their injured guard comes back....Look for a great game. VC heavily favored. So many pieces for the Dogs. Loved their effort at last week's games. Fun to watch

Depends. Will those danged "Glouster refs" be calling the game.93Bulldog wrote:20? Thats it? I was thinking more like 25 or 30. The dogs have no chance. Probably be over by halftime.Ironman92 wrote:Vinton County by 20

It was over at halftime last year in Athens. I don't see this one going that way. VC's 1st road game and 1st real challenge.93Bulldog wrote:20? Thats it? I was thinking more like 25 or 30. The dogs have no chance. Probably be over by halftime.Ironman92 wrote:Vinton County by 20

NY made some runs at VC after falling behind early. Without some of the phantom calls that game could have been a lot closer. So I'm doubting that VC is double digits better than Athens. I could even see Athens winning, especially in Athens.

VC is very talented overall & the best defensive team VC has had in awhile, but we lack a true elite defender to give Lutz issues. Bartoe can cause some issues but lacks size with Lutz. Yates can use his length, but Lutz is a too quick. As long as VC rebounds well, they'll have it sealed for about a 10 point game. But if Athens gets offensive rebounds, like last year @ VC, it'll be close.
58-48 in favor of VC with VC pulling away due to free throws. Lutz will drop 25 points. At least.

I agree with you on the close game. But every fan in the world argues about terrible calls in a loss. Maybe if Nelsonville didn't air ball at least 10 shots it would've been closer.
