Re: WHO MADE THE COACH'S ALL DISTRICT 14 TEAM'S
Honestly...very disappointed!!! Piketon is #8 in state; 22-2, SVC co-champs (yes, sent three teams to district finals)....Now, they're moving on to regional semifinals...Cody Smith (SVC player of year) is 2nd team, and Jordan Brabson is 3rd team ...Jordan averaging nearly 30pts/game in the tourney....Both 1000pt scorers....absolutely rediculous and embarassing in my opinion! Just being honest!
Not that the other players didn't have good season's or don't deserve the accolades, but I'm not sure how SVC POY is 2nd team...

I have a hard time putting Roll ahead of either one of them. I admit I didnt see him play this year but I would be very interested to know what his shooting percentages are for his career and for this year?
Re: WHO MADE THE COACH'S ALL DISTRICT 14 TEAM'S
Honestly, the District 14 team isn't as prestigious as the SE District team. Not saying that players didn't get the shaft but it's viewed by a lot of people as being less of an honor.

Brabson definitely deserved atleast 1st team,he also deserved SVC POY over Smith.Smith is solid, but not near the talent as Brabson.

They list Anthony Williams of Portsmouth as a sophmore. I thought he was a senior. Is that wrong or is he really just a sophmore?
Also, congrats to sophmore Andy Stegman from Wheelersburg for making 1st team.

District 14 only contains slightly over half of the total Southeast District teams. But, District 14 teams only have 5 players per team where Southeast District has 8+ sometimes for each team. So it balances out. I kind of favor the District 14 team because it is voted by the coaches and not the media. I know I would rather be respected by the area coaches than by the sportswriters.

Agreed...Brabson is better than Smith. Remember, this was voted on before the tournament started. Pretty sure if it was done today, Brabson would be first team and Smith would still be second.

Honestly, all this shows is a lack of leadership and continuity among the SVC coaches. Once decisions are made at their league meeting they need to get on board (like it or not) for the good of the kids in the conference. If you look at the selections you can see the SHL coaches didn’t break ranks.
Cody Smith was the SVC POY and should have been voted 1st by every SVC coach. Followed by every other 1st team SVC selection. Then place your votes for the other conferences.

Re: WHO MADE THE COACH'S ALL DISTRICT 14 TEAM'S
Anthony Williams was/is one of the five best players in District 14 D3. The kids from the SHL are deserving except for the two Eastern Brown players - they probably should have been 3rd team and HM at best.
