Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
If he turns down the PHS job, and the so called "back up" or "plan B" decides to take his name out of the running also............what happens then.....??
Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
No one has been hired yet, it will be announced next week afer some decisions have been made.

Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
If they have a chance to get Jeff and don't due to some less than intelligent reason heads ought to roll. Anyone know if he wants the job but there is some sort of disagreement about hiring him ? Seems cut and dryed --if that guy wants that job it would be his. But as always the behind the scenes stuff is always going on. MD

Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
good post Nook --I just hope he ends up here. If he needs more time , allow it --unless some proven great coach is waiting I'd give Jeff all the time he needs. Great to hear he is a man of faith. along with a BB legend ! MD
Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
I dont think we can give him "all the time he needs", and I am sure Jef knows that himself.
we need for our kids to be in sumer league, and involved in summer ball , so they can be just as ready as every other team on our schedule.
I would like to se Jeff come to Portsmouth, but I also am just as exieted to see what the second man on the list can do,,,,either coach will be great for our program.
should know after the weekend.

Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
IMO I'd wait , No not indefinetly , did'nt mean to imply that into june or july was acceptable but with a coach of his proven caliber I'd have a long leash , so to speak. MD
Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
I understand everyone wants Jeff, and wants to give him time.
my point was,,,,dont wait to long...or you may lose out all the way around.
the second man in line, could do just as much for our program, if he gets the chance.
IMO, if he hasnt took the job by now, more then likely, he will stay put at piketon

Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
It is not a sad at all in Portsmouth. The basketball players at PHS deserved for this saga to be over and if Coach Lisath didn't feel that it was the right choice for him then that is what is best for everyone involved. I think that Eugene Collins will do an excellent job if he is named the head coach of the Portsmouth Trojans. He knows a lot of basketball and brings a lot of experience to the table. Now, it is time for the Trojan fans to get behind him and get ready for the 09-10 edition of Portsmouth Trojan Basketball.

I respect the man for following the direction he thinks the LORD is leading him. You cannot fault the man for that. If more people did that it would be a better world.
