Belpre Basketball 2009-2010

I hope Simms can play he will be the center of this team. If he plays like I know he can he will dominate the TVC.

Doesnt look like Belpre did to bad up there against some of those bigger schools. My only question is how is Sims playing ? He moved back and is suppose to sit out a year ? According to the rules other than that I am not trying to be pessimistic about this team, they are athletic, fast, and strong and if given the right seeding could make a run.

Sims has already been ruled eligible by the OHSAA as there are several EXCEPTIONS to OHSAA bylaws.

Belpre played well last night at River Valley. Our guards took care of the basketball while the bigs finished the plays.
We ran the floor and the defensive pressure was the best I've seen since Coach Stout left the program. (Maybe cause we were playing his team that's why lol)
Great to see Tate and Sims together on the floor. Both have great size and are good athletes. Together they are a nice combo. RaShawn Miller Jr, Pat Slattery Sr, and Tyler Leasure Sr all showed that they will contribute in a big way this season.

Did the JV scrimmage last night @ River? Any scouting results of that? What does the varsity and jv staters look like. Getting closer to tip off time, I believe Belpre Basketball Bonanza is Wed before Thanksgiving, and the Athens Shriners TVC Preview the Friday after.

Actually they must continue to work on all phases although they are looking good so far.They will improve as they play and practice with each other more.Defensive pressure looks very good.Looking forward to a good season

JV starters look pretty good..with Sizemore probably only getting 2 or 3 quarters in the JV game, due to the quarters he might play in the varsity game..anyone have who will come off the bench for JV..DJ Biles? any other freshman?

Didn't make to Portsmouth for the scrimmages, how'd Belpre look. Oak Hill, Portsmouth and Piketown are as good as they come, good measuring stick for the team. Maybe we'll see these teams on the road to the Schott!!!!

How did the Eagles look against Piketon? Also, how did the battle between Sims & Keenan Brush/Caleb Southworth go? Also Tate & Legg? I know that Piketon is returning alot this year and is expected to be very good. If the Eagles hung with the 'Streaks that would bode well for the Eagles upcoming season.

Yes, there is a freshman team.

I think our kids held their own. Piketon is a very nice ball club. Their kids know their roles and play them very well. The Belpre kids have been getting OJT with all these tough scrimmages and I believe they will pay big time when the regular season begins.
