Watch out for the Belpre Eagles this season, they return te TVC's leading scorer in Markie Tate, and also have Reggie Sims back. This team is loaded with talent, and i think they finally have a coach who knows how to use the talent, and keep this Belpre team in check. This kids from aren't uncoachable, they just need a good coach. Parsons has known all these kids for a long time, this is the year is supposed to all happen..big expectations for Belpre Basketball this year! Best of luck to all of you, and have a great season! GO EAGLES!

i personally don't buy into any of that nonsense. i would actually kind of like to see athens get really pissed and win every single tvc title in every sport for the next ten years. imagine the ocean of tears around the league then.....

Its too bad for Athens Losing all the time in the SEOAL now they have a good football season in the TVC and think they are the best team ever. Now they can get there crying towels out because Vinton County drives this bus boys so get in the back and have a seat.

Frank Valentour all of the tvc this year.

My bad, I meant to say Frank Valentour all OVER the TVC this year lol, there is not a person in that league who can stop him. Cant say I know a whole lot about the team, but Pfaff,Butcher, and Valentour are gonna be something to mess with this year.

So who has Wellston scrimmaged so far this year Highspeed? Given all the returning lettermen from last year, I figured The Golden Rockets would be talking about the amount of experience they have coming back not the underclassmen.

Just got back from the Vinton County scrimmage, they traveled to Harvest Prep. The Vikings scrimmaged against the Warriors and the Westfall Mustangs. Out of the seven quarters the Vikings played; they were 5-2, losing once to Harvest Prep and once to Westfall. The Vikings looked very solid, it was a very good test for the Vikings.

Athens will be good. Heck they have won everything in the TVC so far besides basketball.. that i know of? Probably not soccer because of alexander and i dont see that changing because with the success of the football teams, more students will want to be involved but sooner or later Athens will have a league title in every sport.... and this is just their second year!

Well that fits, seeing how they tucked tail and ran from the SEOAL, they SHOULD win all sports. After all, they have the snobby parents and inflated ego's of a community better than everyone else :(

What is, or are, the problems with the N-Y basketball program? They have been "down" for years! Please don't say it's a "football school", because I can remember when N-Y was very good in both sports.

VC beat Warren tonight in the Foundation Game by 4 or 5. Allthough this is called a scrimage it is played as a game. VC looks to be the cream of the TVC crop yet again.

Dundas,
From '99 to '02 Belpre lost a total of four games in the TVC. Two of those games were at Wellston, one at Alex, and i forget where that other one was at. In addition to winning the TVC four years in a row, Belpre also made it to the Final Four in '01. I wish I could see Dustin Guthrie and Nick Morey go at it because at the time Morey never had anyone who challenged him other than Ardo Armpolo (spelling?) from Wellston. Morey and Klein were a big reason why Belpre won four in a row.

VC has been a very dominant team in the TVC since 2004. They are the cream of the crop in the league. I personally don't see them going undefeated this year but I see them winning the league. They are the best coached team in the TVC-Ohio, Combs has brought alot of enthusiasm, discipline, and pride to a traditionally middle of the pack program.

If Belpre can put it together I wouldn't be surprised if they challenge VC for the title. They are by far the most talented and athletic teams in the SE district but discipline is the missing ingredient. We will find out if Parsons can instill some discipline, enthusiasm, and pride into a once dominant program. Sims and Tate are as talented as they come in the TVC. I think many will be surprised how much better Sims has gotten since his last appearance in the TVC (soph year-2008). Playing against bigger schools in WV helped him, also being about 6'5 or 6'6 helps. Its funny because Belpre has always had problems with discipline, even back in the late 90s, early 2000s when they were winning, but they never lacked the talent.
