If they lose to Trimble in the opener and get killed at Wheelersburg then there won't be many fans coming to watch the coach or the team. Maybe with all that Federal Hocking is going through with all the lawsuits, money trouble and back stabbing maybe this is how they should be represented. They are the best deer hunters in the County I understand. Lights or no lights. Since it's deer season will the season opener be canceled? Good luck to all the teams in the County this year.

i don't know how the good people of the Federal Hocking district can in good faith defend their hat wearing coach. if you admit he made a mistake in his attire it does not mean you are a traitor just a person with good common sense. if our coach wore a hat to the preview I would be one of the first to say "what was he thinking".

Being one of the more vocal Lancer fans on here, I won't defend it, support it, or try to justify it in any way. Those that have done so, well, frankly, they've done so and will have to take the heat that comes later on if there are bumps in the road and the faithful are not happy with his coaching.

Do I like it? Not really. Do I understand it? Not really. Am I surprised? No.

I really don't plan on posting much this season about boys basketball, but I felt a need to step out and say that this is not agreeable for some of us Lancer fans, and I, for one, won't even try to explain, or defend it in any way.

I'm sure the AD has gotten some calls and taken some heat about this, so let's see how things go with the season opener. I hope that the young man has learned something about the importance of the chair that he's assumed as the leader of the boys basketball team at Fed Hock.

I think it depends on if Wahama is still in the playoffs 78.

Sparty I guess your lack of knowledge has resulted in your false sense of happiness. Now if you could just get those Millfield and Chauncey kids to somehow go to Trimble huh? ;-) You know, the whole ignorance is bliss thing, right? We appreciate your concern for the well being of our school and all  , but you should remain focused on beating up on teams like you did Miller in the preview. Who's next? Eastern? Watch out in that one cuase Howie might just feel like stomping.

The lancers have had 4 coaches over the last 5 years. Having a coach that the kids respect and buy into his game plan is all the lancer admins were hoping for. Welston prolly would have won if their coach would have recruited better. Or did he miss a year because of that?
It's just a preview, it doesn't matter. There isnt much any of you can do about it so leave it alone. Go Lancers.

You can thank your Superintendent for that. He told Vales he only had a one year contract. So Vales told him no problem. Superintendent gets into it with your best football coach and he leaves and of course you saw the results of that. Also I've heard Federal Hocking only pays it's coaches $1.00. Your not going to get much for that. Well maybe you can get a HAT.
