Ironton has the best freshmen class I have ever seen.......and that is almost 40 years of high school basketball........they go 10 deep and have everything.......size, guards, ballhandling, shooters.......no weaknesses that I saw watching them.......Zac Carter starts on the varsity and Dion Brown is not playing due to an injury.

The Fighting Tigers will really be TOUGH the next 3 years.......probably will be competing for a state championship in football (a lot of them play football also) or basketball or both within that time.

Have to agree with Trojandave, those Ironton freshman are very tough kids. I had a relative that played with some of them in AAU and gusmacker. They are very talented. The best group I've seen in one school.

Peebles Freshmen are pretty tough, they were undefeated in Jr High and have played together since biddy ball, they really gel as a team, they remain undefeated as Freshmen, and that is without Arey at the helm, as he is playing Varsity...a strong future for Peebles Basketball

For the Pointers we only have one freshman playing Austin Majher so he's the Pointer's number one! ;-)

Wellston has a very good class that have all played up this season and has gained some valuable experience on the varsity and JV levels.

Ousley 6'5"
Love 6'2'
Owens 6'6"
Brown 5'9"
Richards 6'2"

Chesapeakes Freshman play very well together. Thompson is a very very good player. They are very small but their defense is amazing. They have lost a couple games this year but they did beat Wheelersburg JV and Ironton JV minus Carter. But Fletcher and all the rest of those kids from Ironton played. You could tell they really missed a point guard out there. Fletcher at 6'4 or 6'5 was bringing the ball down the floor in that game and couldnt handle the pressure from the pesky little kids from Peake.

Last year I had heard Ironton's 8th grade was going to be the best Freshman class, but I must say I was not real impressed when I saw them play Chesapeake. They had some athletic player but played more as individuals. I felt Chesapeake played better as a team. I do believe Chesapeake beat them. :122246

Well let's see,

Dion Brown missed the season due to a knee injury.

Zac Carter plays Varsity.

Tanner Duty, Josh Glover, Trevor White, Trey Fletcher and Nick Culbertson play on the JV Team. :122246 :122245

I completely disagree. I've seen him play, and i think lands from eastern is the best freshman in the SOC 1 (i don't know many SOC II freshmen). crager is a great player, but he is nowhere near being "easily" the best. lands would start on any other team, but eastern is loaded with seniors this year so he comes off the bench as 6th or 7th man. the way that kid attacks the basket and handles pressure at his age is incredible. he looks like one of the best freshmen eastern has ever had. you have to take into consideration how good this group is too, so he doesn't get as much playing time as he would have if he had been a freshman in other years. i heard their 8th grade team was great last year so i'm predicting eastern to be #1 in the soc again soon.

2 or 3 of the kids that wouldve been freshman decided not to play this year for the peake either...so whats that got to do with the price of tea in china. If they get beat, they get beat. Move on.
