Western at Eastern-Cross County Rivalry Friday 12-11

Eastern Pike finally opens up this friday at home against Western.

Both teams lost key players to graduation. I was told Western looked good at Previews and will be competitive this season. Eastern has been up and down through scrimmages.

Any thoughts on this game?

I think eastern and sims are the league favs but it will be a good test for coach Kights boys at western to get some expereince against a league fav.On the road.Ithink it can be a very good game to watch fast and exciteing.

This is a hard game for me to predict.Western looked 10 times better than I thought they were at previews and we looked worse than I thought we would.On paper,I think the Eagles are a 15 point favorite but I see Western keeping it close as Eastern will have some first game jitters but will figure it out and win by about 8.


Also anxious to see how much the Freshman play Friday evening.

Yes, he will be available for this game and should be close to 100%. I have yet to see Western play, but everyone keeps telling me that they are a lot better than everyone thought coming into this year. The eagles will have to strap it up and play physical against this western team. I say the eagles by 9 in a defensive battle.

Not sure of the final score. A buddy of mine who was there text me & said Eastern won by around 20 points. He said it was a 1 point game at halftime with Eastern pulling away in the 2nd half.

Eastern ended up winning 78-53. Western gave them a scare in the first half as Eastern was only up by one. With around 4 minutes left in the 3rd it was still only a one point game. Eastern puts up 25pts in the fourth to pull away with the win. All around good game for the Eagles. Western plays smart and has the ability to upset some teams this year. It won't be as long of a year as what some ppl thought for western. Congrats to Eastern on the win and good luck to Western the rest of the season.
