Re: Newboston at Clay 12-11-09
If Clay can cut down the turnovers they could win or be in every ball game. When you average 27.5 turnovers a game you can't win ball games like that! Clay had 31 turnovers against South Webster saturday night that is almost 60 of there points right there. No disrespect to Webster but if Clay didn't have all them turnovers they could and should have won that ball game. Lets hope Clay can pull it together tonight against Minford and get a big win going into the Conference play!!!

I see Clay not turning the ball over all that much in the next few games I think they will come together and play like they can.

Should be a Statement game for Clay to show how they are going to compete in the SOC I. No more excuses boys, you are 0 - 0 in your conference. Step up your game and get a win this Friday against NB and next Friday against Western and start out 2 - 0 in the SOC I.

This one should get pretty intresting! If Clay continues to play the way they have been I see New Boston winning this one by close to 10 points. Lets hope New Boston can handle their own against Clay's size.
Good Luck to both teams!

Just joking. But I said Clay SHOULD win this one easily! Just shocked that Clay has yet to even compete in a game yet. They should beat NB...but I doubt the Tigers just let em!

Do you know that Clay lost 44-75 to Northwest, 50-72 to South Webster and 39-69 to Minford? I don't see much offense or defense there either. New Boston lost 36-70 to the Wellston Rockets. I see a game going down to the wire!
Go Tigers!

I think this game will be a dog fight to the end
Re: Newboston at Clay 12-11-09
well i think clay will be able to win but they have to play smart and quite turning the ball over.
Its not the coachs fault why their doing bad and not winning if the players would have actually came to the gym and worked over the summer instead of goofed of the whole time they would be 3-0 right now so the only reason y there doing bad is because the players ARE NOT DEDICATED and you can't blame the coach for that.

Most of the players played other sports like baseball and golf. So they couldnt go to open gyms like that.

if new boston gets in there and plays a good physical game then they should be able to win this one because clay dont like to box out or get bumped if new boston does this then its a W for the tigers to give them some confidence

Oh, if only it were that easy dunk. I am sure it would have helped if more of them would have shown up, but it comes down to a numbers game when SOC I and II schools play. Clay has 53 boys to find 12 to play basketball, SW has 108, Minford has 150+, NW has 200+.
So while it isn't the coaches fault that they turn the ball over so much, he does have to take responsibility when they start the Minford game not being able to get the ball across half court because the press break he has set up isn't working, and yet he doesn't call time out to fix it or at least settle the kids down. He is also responsible for inbounds plays that haven't worked for 3 years ( we lead the county in 5 second calls) and playing man to man full court press with much faster teams giving up lots of lay-up.
Clay has some talent, the coach just needs to figure out what to do with it.
