Waverly vs. Wheelersburg

The "Little Guys" always makes halftime so much better and more enjoyable to watch. The new one, Coach Beard's son, is very fundamental for his age. Once those kids reach the high school level, should be some good ball players. But back to the game, Waverly is a very solid defensive team who can struggle to find their offensive identity at times. I haven't seen Wheelersburg play yet, but they always seem to have an excellent team. Waverly needs to control the clock, and play mistake free basketball and try to find Martin or Roback in the post. If Kretzer is wide open he can nail the 3-ball in your face. Waverly has the talent to go on a run. Along with Malone and Johnston in the game, Wheelersburg may have trouble driving and putting the ball in the basket if they are in man defense on top of the key, while playing a zone-like defense in the post with the size from Martin, Roback, and Kretzer. IMO, I think Waverly will come out with the win in a close game by a single digit margin.

I think there's a whole new basketball mentality at Waverly this year. They are confident and flat out get after it. The defensive pressure and intensity has been very good the past two games and let's look for that to continue. The offense will get better and better as they gel together more. Should be a great game as Burg will be invading the jungle with something to prove.

I say Waverly by 8. Going to be a 1 or 2 point game until Burg starts fouling at the end to try to get the ball. JMO.

I want 2 know why NO one ever talks about that Harrasion Martin kid he is 10x the ball player is KRETZER will ever be.. I mean really. Last year as a sophmore Martin avg over 20 I believe. all I ever see from Waverlys hear coach talk about in the papaer is Kretzer or whatever.. he is good I'm not sayin he isn't. But Wavlerys best player is Harrasion. I believe he could be the best jouinor player in southren Ohio.

Burg can't buy a basket and can't hit free throws either. My guess is they had just as many, if not more, turnovers than made baskets in the 2nd half.
