No, but you will be eating a ton of crow if Eastern somehow upsets the "mighty" Redstreaks. I'll give credit where credit is due, Piketon had a outstanding season last year! But this is a completely different team, who lost 2 thousand point scorers, will be without their top big man, and struggled against a good press against Mifflin. No doubt about it, Eastern does not have the same athletic ability, depth, and speed of Mifflin, but if they can force turnovers, be effective on offense, and play a sound game I see them giving Piketon a run for their money.
All I'm saying is, throw the records out, the so called "favorite" because anything can happen in the Pike Co. Tournament!

Aside from their league games they play D3 Minford, D3 Piketon, Either Western(non league) or D2 Waverly, Charleston Catholic WV(made the WV state tourny last year in their division), Southeastern, and D2 Northwest. Not to shabby for a D4 school. Not outstanding, but I think it is a little more than your "decent" schedule you were referring too.
I also like how you get on here and make up hype about your school, saying they are not getting any respect. If anything I think Piketon is getting the most hype and respect leading into the tournament this year. The question is will they live up to it. I guess time will tell if Eastern, Waverly, or Western has anything to say about it.

101, I was referring to the post when you said Piketon wasn't getting any respect and poking at Eastern's scedule. I agree though that both schools should expect and want their school to win. You want Piketon to win and think they will, just as I would like to see Eastern win and pull off the upset. Nothing wrong with that. I think it will be a good close game.

Re: Pike County Holiday Classic
there is nothing wrong with what you said... i agree with every thing you said except the upset thing...lol....
Re: Pike County Holiday Classic
Why is it an upset? Eastern has the better record, last year has nothing to do with this year.... Piketon starts 1-2 seniors, they are a young team....

Man, It don't take much for the Piketon fans to get all rowed up!!! lol. People make one prediction about a team beating Piketon in the classic and its like somebody dropped a bomb! lol
Re: Pike County Holiday Classic
Does anyone have the winners of the past years?
I would love to see the results to get a better idea of what part of the county the trophy has been in the most.

Re: Pike County Holiday Classic
If this year is anything like the past......the county will be treated to some real slobber knockers! I agree with everyone else that stated the records can be thrown out and the accomplishments of last year will not win any games this year.
Sports 101, you don't seem too concerned that Piketon will be playing without Southworth. Do you honestly believe that his absence will not make that much of a difference or do you think Piketon is just that much better and can win without their big man? I honestly think that his athleticism and leadership will be missed and could be the reason that Piketon is playing for third place.
