Is that your seeding or how you think it will go?

How it will go

independent,
i think a question that needs to be asked, if the 7-7 team played the same schedule that the 9-5 team played would they be better than 9-5 or vice versa? i think ironton and portsmouth both play a tougher schedule than any of the other d3 teams, should this be factored in? hypothetically let's say a shl, soc, tvc, or svc school has a 9-5 record and portsmouth or ironton have a 7-7 record who gets the better seed? or another way of putting it which one deserves the better seed? i already know which one would get the better seed if history has taught us anything.

Omg this thread is getting ridiculous. How can anybody say that Ironton and Portsmouth played a tougher schedule? If memory serves me right...Peake started out with Burg, Ironton, Waverly...then played Cambell Memorial from outside Columbus who has over 1400 kids in their school. Then went on to play not one but two AAA schools from WV in the st joe invitational and won both those. In two nights! (and by the way AAA in WV is much larger schools than div iii in Ohio). I promise you wont see any more replies from me on this thread. Just wanted to get my opinion in there. I'll wait till the tourney actually starts before I start picking a winner(s).

I have to agree with ovc fan. Chessy will get the #3 seed and earned it.
Re: 2010 Div 3 Sectional Tournament @ Jackson HS...WOW!
Peake has played a formidable schedule, more difficult than many of the Norm years.
It is hard to compare though with all of those foreign schools from other nations.
Chilly twice and Warren twice and Ironton twice.....that is 6 games versus 3 of the top 10 teams in the entire district

Sparky,I dont have a crystal ball, but if the 9-5 team played the 7-7 teams schedule they would probably be 3-10,but they don't and that is why the 9-5 team has the juice,on selection sunday.

Fact Check: Campbell Memorial is a Division 3 school near Youngstown with essentially the same enrollment as Chesapeake (about 340 versus 370 kids).

Maybe they were thinking of Watkins Memorial instead

They played Cabell Midland out of Ona, WV. Their enrollment is around 1850 students.

independent,
my point is that strength of schedule should be taken into consideration when voting, therefore, the voters should not completely make up their mind on the vote until they see the records on the board and how each school did against each division.

I was going by the program at the Ironton Classic...coulda sworn it said Campbell Memorial had an enrollment of over 1400. My bad.

Just watching several OVC games and just my opinion, Coal Grove can win against those teams listed below them but dont hold a candle compared to the teams listed above them.

It is really hard to tell yet other than Ironton and Oak Hill. Their are some matchups this week that could shuffle 3-6 around a little. Portsmouth has to play Peake and Ironton which will greatly impact Portsmouth's seeding. Valley plays Burg and Oak Hill which will effect theirs. At this point I see the seeding as follows.
1 Oak Hill
2 Ironton
3 Chesapeake
4 Valley
5 South Point
6 Portsmouth
7 Coal Grove
8 Wheelersburg
9 Minford
10 Rock Hill
11 West
South Point's fate I think depends on how well Valley and Portsmouth do in those matchups this week. If Valley and Portsmouth win out this week, both teams would have a real arguement for the 3 seed. If Portsmouth can beat either Chesapeake or Ironton, they could move to 5. If Valley loses to Burg and Oak Hill, Valley could drop to 6. And honestly I think Burg should be ahead of Coal Grove, but I know that wont happen because of records. I dont think Coal Grove has beaten a team with a winning record yet this season.

None of this matters. This is the single most political thing we do in high school sports. Cambell memorial, is a D3 basketball school in Ohio.

If Portsmouth cannot beat Ironton or Chesapeake this week, they absolutely have no argument whatsoever about where they should be seeded.......especially with both games at home.

Just curious how big is Irontons starting five does anyone know.
I know Ironton started slow because of the extended football season but they seem to playing extremely well right now.
But wondering how much of a factor size will play as the post season get started for Ironton.
