Re: Division II @ Logan
Your pairings are correct but I think the 2 winners out of the sectional that go to the Convo will crossover and play winners out of another sectional. That is what happened last year.
Re: Division II @ Logan
The district brackets are on OHSAA.org. #1 Logan plays #2 Southeastern, #1 Southeastern plays #2 Logan.

Re: Division II @ Logan
Sheridan and Athens will play each other in the next few weeks, should be an interesting match up, we scrimmaged Athens (nice team, well coached) and played Sheridan. Sheridan plays all underclassmen and are very athletic but tend to play in spurts with a lack of consistancy. Talent wise, IMO, Sheridan has far more ability but Athens is much more disciplined and experienced. I've watched nearly every team in the sectional, this is my opinion of how it "should" go.
1. Logan Elm-superior coaching mixed with experience.
2. Warren Local- strong/athletic/disciplined
3. Athens- very well coached, nice point guard.
4. Vinton County-based on record, they are well coached but don't have the overall talent of some of these teams, he knows how to get the most out of his players though.
5. Sheridan-wild card, has more athletic ability then anyone in this sectional but they are young and inconsistant. Not a team you want to play in this sectional. Next year they could be scary good.
6. Fairfield Union-them beating Elm blows my mind, seen them three times and was not impressed at all.
7. Gallia Academy-Haven't watched but didn't have much last season.
8. New Lex-won a few lately, no size or consistancy, likely finishes with around six wins.
9. Marrietta-Down year.
Based on that I see this:
8. New Lex vs 9. Marrietta-toss up, likely doesn't matter, I will go with NL.
4. Vinton vs. 5. Sheridan-toss up, I think Sheridans size and athleticism will bother the Vikes so they are my pick.
2. Warren vs. 7. Gallia- Grind it out game, Warren wins.
3. Athens vs. 6. Fairfield Union-Athens is a better team.
Round 2.
1. Logan Elm vs. 8. New Lex-Good old fashioned butt kicking. All LE
2. Warren vs. 3. Athens- Good game, toss up. I'm taking A-town.
1. Logan Elm vs. 5. Sheridan- I think this game will be tight if the Generals play Elm, they are more athletic then the Braves but not as skilled. Elm will still win though, too much experience and coaching.
Therefore my sectional champs will be Logan Elm and Athens. Feel free to disagree.

Re: Division II @ Logan
Good breakdown, I think the seedings seem accurate as they possibly can be to this point. Warren and Logan Elm have played the toughest schedules by far and still have very good records. It's hard getting a gauge on Athens. They just haven't played any of the more challenging teams to this point.

Sheridan is athletic, but in consistant. A last second tip from getting beat by FU. Fu did beat LE and lost to a good Teays Valley 50-53 and was even with Canal Winchester for 3 quarters. If they play the way they can. Might surprise some people.

Don't count Athens out for the one seed. They currently have the better record, and I doubt teams are going to be lining up wanting to play Logan Elm.

Athens plays Sheridan on Febuary 16th ... not sure if the draw would have happened by then or not.

Yes 93Bulldog... unless i was informed wrong the drawing is on Sunday Feb. 14th. This should be correct as in the past the drawing has most usually been on the Sunday of the last regular season week...

Athens is a great team from what i saw last night but i can't see them being ranked above Logan Elm. Remember that the seeding takes votes from teh coaches into conideration and i don't think too many teams are going to want to put LE at the 2 spot... althought i have been known to be wrong from time to time...

Re: Division II @ Logan
did athens leave the seol to go to the tvc? if so, aren't they playing a much weaker schedule?

Wouldn't say weaker but more smaller schools
Re: Division II @ Logan
I'd say Athens is playing a weaker schedule. VC and Alex are good teams but the TVC-Ohio doesn't have the depth of the SEOAL. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't get a lot credit for the turnaround - some of those past Athens teams wouldn't have won a lot of games in either the SEOAL or TVC.
