Waterford held Anderson to 6 points. I think he had 1 FG and 4 FTs. Waterford rotated several people on Anderson with each guarding him for about 2 minutes at a time. For Waterford the Pottmeyer kid is really stepping up. I think if these 2 teams played 10 times that each would win 5 times.

Re: Fort Frye 51 @ Waterford 61 Final
Waterford did exactly what they needed to do in this contest------Make sure Anderson wasn't going to single handedly beat them. They tried denying him the ball all evening and tried to never leave him in a one on one situation. Fort Frye was able to hang around and stay within the 8 to 10 point deficit for a big part of the game, but couldn't really put any pressure on the Wildcats until the fourth quarter. Waterford used its balanced offensively, but got a huge performance from Hilverding. Welch was his normal all around self. Pottmeyer played really well and Huffman, Harris, McCutcheon provide quick, physical play on the defensive end, and ballhandling midrange scoring ability on the offensive side. Waterford's depth for a division IV team is really impressive. Fort Frye once again has a very good defensive team and offensively obviously relies on Anderson. To make a good playoff run, the Cadets will need some scoring output from others as teams will try to limit Anderson of course. This was a really good old time, physical, Washington County battle in front of a hostile, packed house at the Cooper.
