Yes Purple= Underdog

Is this the same Amen Corner who spoke to Coach LaFon prior to Portsmouth's matchup with Chesapeake on 2/13 about Ironton's "expected" #2 seed in the Jackson sectional...

..."Everyone knows the seeds are way off"...

I agree Ironton should be 1 and if you remember where did i say Portsmouth should be?

talk about the two of them together...I'm sure that Ironton is good enough to defeat both teams...I'm sure that Ironton is so good that they could beat both teams combined!

Good luck against Coal Grove/Minford...

I think that Portsmouth is going to come out on top. I do not think Valley can match up man 2 man with the Trojans. Portsmouth guards are too quick for Valley's but I think Tre and Dion are going to be the factor in the game. This should be a great game and good luck to both teams. (even though I'm a valley grad, I still gotta go with my hometown team). Go Trojans and Good Luck Indians

Valleys defense may cause some problems early, but p-town will come out on top in the end.

I can guarantee you that Portsmouth will not overlook Valley.......the Trojans have had 11 of 18 games decided by 7 points or less.......going 7-4 in those games.......and also have had two 10 point games vs. Logan........the kids have been in pressure situations all year, and overall have responded well........the Indians are first of all good enough to beat Portsmouth, and secondly the Trojans have a tendency to be a spurty team and not put the hammer down on an opponent.

We need to get a lead, build on it, and not let the Indians back in the game.

If you let Valley hang around you are flirting with disaster. Valley has 5 come from behind wins this year. In each of those games they were down by 10+ points heading into the 4th quarter. Valley will definately fight to the end. Portsmouth will have to play 4 quarters come Friday night.

Portsmouth is not going to let Valley upset them. Portsmouth has learned from their bad losses earlier in the season. If you look at Portsmouth's last 10-12 games, they could have easily won all of those games. Probably should have, with their loaded roster. Portsmouth is clicking on all cylinders now with Mckinley and Horne, complementing an already allstar lineup. As Trojan dave has said before, The trojans could easily be in position to win the district and regional titles.
We all know the seeding process is a joke. That is over. Portsmouth, oak hill, Ironton and Peebles, should be highly favored to win their sectional finals.

i would list it like this for entertainment purposes:

Oak Hill -7 vs Burg
Ironton -13 vs Coal Grove
Portsmouth -15 vs. Valley
Chesapeake -5 vs. South Point

I think this will be a game that come right down to the last minute on the clock, with either team having a chance to win it...and thats just a guess,I have not seen Valley play, bt by looking at their wins, and record, they are a very very good team.

Portsmouth has a hard time getting a lead and keeping it, and has not put anyone away this year yet, Portsmouth will need to play "4" good periods of basketball, and do a better job at the free throw line to have a chance at winning this game.

anyone from Portsmouth, and Valley knows, any time these two teams meet in ANYTHING, its always a battle

bd;

Valley doesnt mind playing from behind...I know Valley has trailed by 10+ in 3-4 games and came back to win them all.
