Manchester 71 Peebles 68 Final Feb. 24
Greyhounds pull off the upset to negate Peebles' pursuit of a 20-0 regular season and the much ballyhooed SHL gold ball. This will get some people talking. Manchester outscores the homestanding Indians 25-14 in the decisive 4th quarter.
Per C103 radio, Blake Justice netted 24 points for the Indians while the Greyhounds were paced by Blake Blevins' 25 points and Dylan Hanson's 17 points.

Wins over Ironton and Peebles
Anyone in D4 top that....and please spare me the out of state teams
SW is the only team close but they beat Portsmouth without Horne and not much of Johnson and then beat Waverly without Martin....STILL IMPRESSIVE though

Manchester will look to take the momentum from this win into the Sectional Finals against the East Tartans, who knocked off the Green Bobcats tonight at Valley HS.
Meanwhile, Peebles will look to rebound in a big way against heated rival North Adams.
What affect will tonight's game have on the forthcoming Sectional Championship games?
It's what makes high school basketball fun ......... the uncertainty.

nice win for the greyhounds, i know losing isnt good but this could really help the indians to get focused for the tournament
Re: Manchester 71 Peebles 68 Final Feb. 24
Congrats to Manchester.D4 betterlook out .I am a Peebles fan and I just watched a very hungry Manchester team that has heart.Don't hang your heads Peebles, cause I doubt many teams could have beaten the hounds on this night. Now that that is out of the way both teams can go deep in the tourny.Play hard, play smart Peebles; because ,N.A. also has heart. GOOD LUCK Peebles and Manchester the rest of the way.

Hats off Manchester came to win and wanted it more than the indians. The big boy will get most of the credit, but the little guards won the game for them. Hopefully Manchester takes this in to finals with them and go's deep into the tournament. Even though we lost it might be the best thing that could've happened, and might be a really bad thing for NA.

baddog - I agree, I think this was a much bigger win for Manchester than loss for Peebles. The Greyhounds garner a lot of respect and momentum from this win whereas the Indians can refocus their attention to the Green Devils a much hungrier team, at least that's how Coach Lawhorn will present it to his team I would think.

No class rebound 42.These boy from manchester played their hearts out and deserved to win.Period. Go Peebles
Re: Manchester 71 Peebles 68 Final Feb. 24
Is there something wrong with you, Manchester boys played hard and there is no reason to bad mouth there players. You always need to remember they are just kids. As for the ref's it was bad both ways we just got out played.

pretty uncalled for rebound with the comments about the kids and the refs..refs didnt beat us tonight...not rebounding, taking bad shots and not being able to guard the inside guys is what beat us

I remember a season when the same scenario played for Peebles against White oak.I think it was 1984 or 1985.Clear this up Chitwood.19and 0 going into the final game of the season and white oak won breaking the 3 year winning streak that was up to 67 or 68 regular season victories in a row.If I remember right the Indians made a great run in the tourny that year and were beaten by a great Columbus Wharley team loaded with 3 or 4 d1 players; including , Ohio State's Jerry Francis,Eli Brewsterand I think the other kid's last name was Green .Good luck the rest of the way Indians. Were proud of youIndians.

Im glad my kid doesn't play for Manchester, because if you called my kid a retard i would call you out and make you regret your statement. Totally uncalled for.
Re: Manchester 71 Peebles 68 Final Feb. 24
Can't really agree with your comment baddog that the hounds wanted it more....you're telling me that a team that was 19-0 and could taste the gold ball and an undefeated season didn't want it as bad......nah....I don't think so. It was just one of those nights where shots fell for one team and not the other....not a matter of anybody played any harder or wanted it any worse.
