I have read a few articles on various recruiting sites(Rivals, scout.com, etc.) that indicate that Ragland is having quite the summer on the AAU circuit and that he has played pivotal roles in his teams efforts including a championship win recently in Florida. What are all the other boys doing this summer? Obviously, Malik is playing on All-Ohio Red but who else is playing for what teams and how are they doing?

I guess Chillicothe is so good they dropped the lowly Tigers of Waverly from their schedule. What's up with that?

Don't know. Maybe they just didn't have room this year for one reason or another? Maybe they feel like they should be playing a better team this year to prepare for the postseason because they expect a long run? Maybe they got mad that they lost last year? Maybe Waverly dropped them? Who knows?

datchillicav,
Chillicothe dropped Waverly after the game was scheduled. It doesn't really matter why, it's how.
Coach Robertson asked for Chilly's schedule so he could decide which games to scout before Chilly played the Tigers. When he got the schedule Waverly was not on it. Coach Robertson called the AD to see what was going on and was told Coach K did not want to play Waverly this year. The game had been scheduled so it would have been nice to have been consulted or told about it, don't you think?

murray, do u want a tissue? When you guys make it to the district championship come see me. Let alone regionals and state. I'm tired of hearing about waverly. this is a chilly topic. I hope we play Waverly in the tourney this yr, please.... I'm sure coach rob will scout chilly 12 times before the tourney. lol

go ahead and bring up the last two times you played us and won by two pts each time, it doesnt matter this yr.

Coach k probably thinking its better to rotate schools than play the same teams every yr on your non league sch. Maybe he should have skipped playing at the Schott or flyin to the hoop to Play Waverly Ohio. lol

I never see any big time schools calling wav to play them.............. Give me a big long post please.

There was no agreement and if there was there must have been an error because the home and home was played the last two yrs.

I do like that coach rob is already thinking about the Cavs two months before the season starts.... oh my.

With the addition of the Flying to the Hoop game (booked last year), it would not be possible to have this game. I know this was clearly discussed last year as the schedule was being put together. Hopefully, we don't hear about this all year. And hopefully both teams meet in the Districts. Both teams have a chance to be pretty doggone good.

GO CAVS!!!

I was just relaying what I was told from someone very close to the program and no, baller3, I don't need a tissue. And you are wrong about the home and home being completed.
Chilly beat Waverly by around 30 at Chilly the year of the championship.
Waverly won the next year at Waverly in OT played Feb.17 2009.
This past season was scheduled to be played on Feb.16 2010 at Chilly but was cancelled due to weather and never made up.
This coming season would be the completion of the most recent home and home.

Whatever the reason for changing it Waverly should have been notified - I'll leave your Chillicothe thread alone now.

Don't know what happenned. You both seem to know what you are talking about but obviously one of you is wrong. IF that's how it happenned then yes, it is B.S. I do not put it past some in Chilli to overlook and not notify Waverly, but I also don't see that it is impossible that the ball was dropped on the other end. Obviously the people on Waverly's end were confused because of a lack of communication somewhere. At this point it really doesn't matter though. Personally I very much enjoy playing Waverly every year. In my eyes it has become somewhat of a rivalry game and since they are the ONLY team anywhere close to Chilli that is worth playing I am in favor of playing them. I did think it should be moved up a little instead of being the very last game. I would rather play at the Schott or the Flyin to the hoop classic though lol.

The Cavs should be very good this year, Looking for a LONG run with a STATE title. As far as the point, The cavs will be running with Manion, Elliott, Ragland, LOndon and Johnson. The transfer student did not play on the serbia 18 year national team. Yes he is tall, but as for shooting, I ve heard that he really isnt all that. Hopefully, The cavs will play with a TEAM concept, and not a ME, ME, ME..Thats why they didnt fair well last year !!! Go Logan !

cavs4life, I think you're definately right on the 4 - Manion, Johnson, London and Ragland. Not sure who the other starter will be but not sure if it will be Elliott. Elliott will definately play but not sure he will start. He is a great kid but imo needs to work on the defensive end and toughin up big time. I do like his ability to shoot the ball. I just think he needs to work on those two things before starting with these 4. But we're not the head coach so who knows...

The kid from serbia is a kid that has a great attitude. He is strong and 6 foot 6. Not sure where he will fit in but I like him. He does a lot of nice things on the court so I'm not going to knock him.

As far as the me, me, me and team concept- I think this team has the team concept. I don't really think last years team was all about me, me, me. I think it had more to do with our senior last yr not trusting our young kids. Our graduate was a good player for sure but tried to do it all himself again not trusting his teamates. This years team is now experienced and I do not see the me, me, me that you're talking about. We shall see.

Go Cavs!

If the exchange student is good I could see a big lineup with
1-Manion
2-Ragland
3-Johnson
4-Djacic
5-London

Or (as I have not seen his skill set) Djacic at the three and Johnson at the 4. Or possibly even Djacic at the 2 with Johnson at 4 and Ragland at 3 but my guess would be the first one.

If Kellough is not convinced that Ragland can play the 2 and Johnson the 3, OR if he doesn't feel that Djacic should start or just simply wants depth in the front court then you have a lineup of
1-Manion
2-Elliot
3-Ragland
4-Johnson
5-London

Again, I feel that several of our players are very versatile. I think that Manion is a true point and will play there. Elliot can play the 1 or 2. I am comfortable with Ragland at anything from 2-4 but most comfortable with him at SF. I am comfortable with Johnson at the 3 or 4. I think his size says that he is a 3 but his skill set says 4 all the way. He reminds me of a young Chris Givens on the basketball floor in the way that he attacks the boards and scraps for every ball and every point with usually taller post players. London could play the 4 if we had someone else who is a beast at center but with our team he is a center. The "X" factor is Djacic. Again I haven't seen his skill set so I will not venture to predict with any certainty at all where he will fit and how it will effect everyone else but it would be wonderful if he can come and and play a strong 4. It would give us versatility to go really big and crash the boards with Johnson and Ragland both on the floor or allow us to run 2 points effectively with Elliot and Manion feeding the front court.

Djacic is gonna be a good addition to this team. I seen a little of what he can bring to the table...with his size and good shooting ability this team will come full circle and be a FORCE to recon with league and especially tournament....the football team is doing well, but I cant wait for basketball! Go Cavs!

Well you seem to have seen more of this team than I have as the seaon hasn't started yet, so in your opinion what position will everyone fall into when the season rols around. Who will play the 4 and who will play the 3?
