Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers 2010-2011
I've heard the same that Djacic is going to be a great addition. He could be the 4 while Zack Johnson plays the 3, but they could interchange with each other since Djacic can shoot the ball. I heard Djacic is every bit of 6ft6 and is strong so he should be able to matchup against the Cavs opponents big man. This team should be exciting to watch. I just now got on their website and they play in several tournments at Ohio st, Wellston and Flyin' to the hoop in Kettering ohio.

I was talking Landon Beverly. For some reason I forgot for the moment that Isaac Beverly's last name was Beverly. I guess I was just thinking of Landon for some reason lol.bvmv4life wrote:datchillicav u follow the cavs well, please tell me u forgot issac was a senior,he is playing football...no big deal jus checking on ya! Isaac IMO, will come off the bench and is a great energy player. If he can consistently knock down his jumper like his brother did he will be a GREAT asset this year as a D and 3 guy. Think Ron Artest's role without the whole NBA skills thing. Even if not, he is a great defender, brings awesome energy, and plays taller than he actually is. I would not be suprised to see him start some games, especially early in the season but IMO, he will be one of the first off the bench and get quality minutes in tough situations.

So with practice a week or so away, where does everyone think the Cavs will fit as far as roles and what does everyone think this season will bring us? Just looking for a little conversation and others' opinions to stoke the basketball fires inside me.
Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers 2010-2011
Congrats Jalen Ragland on officially signing on the dotted line..he's a UTEP Miner....Humpty Hitchens did the same thing before his Senoir season started and Chillicothe won the State...hopefully we'll see a repeat of that this season! Once again CONGRATS,the kid is a class act! Go Cavs!

Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers 2010-2011
Sounds like the Cavs played fairly well at their scrimmage with Ironton and Piketon but that ball handling were at times a concern. Anyone who was there or has seen the team already this season care to offer up their opinion on whether Manion is capable of leading the team deep in the tourney and potentially to Columbus for the Final Four. I have always been a fan of Manion and he improved immensely last season but he definately needs to continue to improve in order to lead the Cavs on a deep run. Guard play is a must for the tournament.

Datchilli...
As for the scrimaage goes, IMO, the Cavaliers were out played and out coached, not only by Ironton, but Piketon. I know it was a scrimmage, but if Chillicothe Plays the way they did in the scrimmage, they wont even make it to the Convo, let alone win the SEOAL ! Again, its the ME concept. Until Coach K puts his foot down, and says WE are a team, and there is NO I in team, they will not go far. They need to tuffin UP, all of THEM. FRom what it looked, the ones that should be playing are not, and the ones that have turn overs and take terrible shots are.
As for Ironton, WOW... To play as well as they did, and not have 4 of their TOP players there due to the football playoffs is amazing. I look for Ironton to win the SEOAL, and go deep into the playoffs, as well as Piketon. They play TEAM BALL, not ME BALL !!! Again, this is just my opinion, not starting a disagreement !!! Wish all teams well this up coming season !!!

Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers 2010-2011
I am not a Coach K hater or anything, everyone remember it is early, things can change, but if the Cavalier basketball program continues on the path it has been on the last couple of years, when does Coach K's free ticket run out from the state title. It seems to me that the football coach was regularly derided publicly, and summarily professionally executed for embarrassing behavior of his players. Everyone knows you win a state title in high school sports you get a few years of free reign, but how long does one get if the program is not coming close to that mark, and the players appear to be just removed from the 1980's UNLV teams? I do observe my alma mater from up north, and just like football will make several trips down south to watch the team play and support the boys. But sometimes alumni like myself who support from afar wonder why some of the things are allowed to continue combined with marginal success. Remember the kids need positive direction in life as well as on the court, coaches are educators whether they are retired from the classroom or not. I am a CAV for life and will come cheer the boys on every time I get a chance, I would like to know the boys are being properly guided through life as well as taught Xs and Os.
Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers 2010-2011
It was a scrimmage. I'm not sure about the Me attitude. I think the boys are following the coach's orders. I don't see any leaders just really good player's. They need a leader. I hope someone can step up in that place. They really didn't have one when they won the state either. We will see. Go Cavs!!
Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers 2010-2011
I was at the scrimmage on Saturday and I didnt see any of what you were talking about....the only thing I seen that could be a SMALL problem was ball control....at times Tyler was out of control and other times he did what he was supposed to do as a point guard,a couple times connecting with Malik on alley oops. The only thing hurting this Cavs team right now is Chemistry and Chemistry only, once January gets here they will be a dangerous team. Your screen name should be StopHatintheCavs4life,i seen you on here talking smack during football season. You didnt even know Ironton was out of the SEOAL! The ME concept left with graduation! Since you know so much about this team which players are ME and not TEAM? By what I hear from varsity coaches this is one team that doesnt argue and that gets along in the locker room. Please sit down and really watch a game before posting nonsense! go Cavs!Cav4life wrote:Datchilli...

U live in Logan? Why u expressing ur opinion on a Chillicothe thread? Shouldnt u be worried about whats going on in Chiefton land concerning basketball? DONATING? I coach for the Future Cavs program(6th grade) so I know whats going on over here and your comment about Milo, once bronc21(his foreign exchange host dad) sees this u might have more than a little disagreement. Does ur nephew even play? Or are u one of those upset family members that think their kid is better than the other kids when the truth is their not? Looking at past posts on the Football forum u ended up being wrong with all that u predicted! Having a forum name of Cavs4life is funny, please do all us fans, coaches, and players a favor change the name to iwannastarttrouble4theCavs4life! I ride or die with any Cavs team that steps on the floor and personally im excited with what they have, win or lose...GO CAVS 2008 State Champs! Im sure u have something bad to say about that team also...!

Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers 2010-2011
I wasn't at the scrimmage, but 4 of Ironton's starters most likely will be 6-6 Trey Fletcher, 5-9 Zac Carter, 5-9 Malcolm Morton, and 6-1 Travis Elliott........none of them play football so they should have been there for Saturday's scrimmage.......the only starter missing would have been Tommy Waginger, who is the starting QB.

Listen, people have different opinions about things, just because you see something different doesnt mean you gotta hate. Besides, I bet your one of the DONATING people that gets your KID to play ? Right ? I live in Logan, my nephew plays for Chillicothe, I can only voice my opinion, not starting another disagreement, just my opnion. And Ironton did not have 4 of their starters there. TALK TO THEIR COACH ! As for getting along, not sure, all I know is what I hear, not all true, but not all lies either. I hear alot of DONATING is going on in that program.......Weird, first Mr. Chambers and now Milo ? Something is fishy in Chilli !!!!! Good Luck to you and I hope your holidays are filled with joy. God Bless !
