Back to topic......... SG should be somewhat young again but will carry some valuable varsity experience gained last year into this season.

SG does have alot of varsity experience. 3 of the starters last year were sophomores, one that also started as a freshman. The way it looks now is that all the started should be juniors this year. People have been bad talking SG the last couple years but they have a good team coming up. If you think back from 2004 to 2007 SG won 15 to 17 games a season, they prob could have won the TVC in 06 and 07 didn't lose to any TVC teams in both of those years, also with back to back sectional championships. I think the team this year can be that good.

I think most of the players that will be on the hardwood will be juniors, a couple seniors and a couple freshman.

Rebels, did you happen to play Federal Hocking in 06 or 07? they also won 17-18 games both years and played a real schedule.

That 06-07 Fed Hock team would have killed them, they were loaded.

No we didnt play Fed Hock but for a small D-6 school the Rebels had a good schedule. We played teams such as Eastern, Southern, Miller, Trimble, Rock Hill , Oak Hill (state champs), South Webster (state champs), Wahama, Buffalo, Waterford, New Boston, Symmes Valley. Pretty good schedule for a D-6 School. If Fed Hock could have beat the Rebels then it wouldnt be by much. We only lost to the state champ South Webster by 14 and they won state by 30. I think the Rebels could have beat Fed Hock.

Didn't know Oak Hill won the state that year? But I do know that Wahama was terrible during those years. That was also a year when Eastern was below average for them, and Southern wasn't very good nor was Miller. But like Phil said for a D6 team you guys were tough.

The Oak Hill that SG Played had 4 of the same starter from the State champ team so it was pretty much the same team. Fed Hock has never played a team as good as the state champ South Webster team. Wahama was 7-0 when we beat them, Eastern had a good team they were the 2nd seed in the tournment with one of the best players on the team to go through Eastern, Nathan Cozart. Also beat one of the best Trimble team in awhile when they had Matt Chrisman and they were the number 1 seed that year. SG has had success aganist TVC schools in the last 5 years or so. SO they should be just fine. :122246

Just sayin, also you never said anything about the Rebels schedule cause we did play a good shedule thats why you didnt say anything, also you know Fed Hock has never played a team like South Webster that would have run that Fed Hock team out of the gym. All you have to say is Hot Shot  . You and I and who ever else will never know who would have won a game between the Rebels and Fed Hock then, so guys like you from bigger schools talk junk to us smaller schools that cant help what kind of teams they play, because if you guy played teams like South Webster and Oak Hill they would lay beatings on Fed Hock.

Ok, moron, first, Oak Hill won like 8 games that year. Those state champions that you speak of were freshmen and sophmores. heck, they lost to teams like southern that year so your argument for that is idiotic. Secondly, you LOST to South Webster! Just because they were on your schedule and they toyed with you and only beat you by 14 doesnt make you a great team! You are on here bragging about teams that you LOST to! Lastly, how in the world does a sober person (and i am assuming your sober) put good schedule and wahama, buffalo and new boston in the same sentence. There are paved roads in this world. You should find one outside of mercertucky and get out and see the real world.

Calm down Popcorn :-D dont have to go and get all mad. But where your wrong is Oak Hill won way more than 8 games that year it was the year before they won state. Also losing to South Webster by 14 is like beating Fed Hock by 20 :122248 . Buffalo is one of WV's better basketball teams. So like I said before Hot Shot  sorry SG is a small school and cant play the teams Fed Hock plays, that just the way of the world popcorn. This was a nice page talking about the Rebels and you had to come on here and try to be cool and ruin it. But the Rebels and Fed play this year maybe we can talk about this later big guy. Until then take a chill pill popcorn lol

It just makes you look really foolish when you get on here and start spewing nonsense about things that are totally untrue and not based on any facts. Lets use your last post as an example, hot shot. You spoke of the 06 and 07 seasons when South Gallia was a supposed power house. Well, Oak Hill won the State Championship in March of 09, TWO years after your DIV.6 champion rebels played them! This is making you look really foolish. You should stop now.

You look foolish when you try to be a Hot Shot SG has played Oak Hill since like 05. And SG was a pretty good team no matter what you say. So you shouls stop popcorn and go to another thread and start stuff there.

The years the rebels were sectional champions and played the jeeps at the convo were 04-05 and 05-06 so I dont know what you all are talking about the 06-07 season for and saying they played the jeeps because they didn't ever play them that year. Popcorn the jeeps were never on the rebels schedule either they just happened to meet in the tournament 2 years in a row.
