I think Belpre will be just fine this year, with there toughest competition being Warren, Fort Frye and Marietta. Watch out for Rashawn Miller, he can flat out score and Erik Waderker can shut down any perimeter player he will face. I'm excited to see the matchup of Waderker vs. Cunningham from Warren. Sizemore leaving really hurts Belpre, he was going to be a force under the basket, and also Dakota Hoffman is not playing basketball this year and he could have helped in the backcourt. Watch out for Drew Nestor, he can knock down the open 3, and is a scorer offensively. Ryan Leasure will have to start at the 5, and Belpre will have to count on him to get a lot of rebounds. I expect the starters to be Waderker, Miller, Nestor, Francis and Leasure. Bryce Pittenger will also see a lot of time at the 5, with Sellers also seeing a lot of time off the bench. This team will be fast, and will be looking to run and press a lot. If Coach Parsons can get this team to play defense, then they should make a run at a TVC title. Varsity team should look somethin like this:
Rashawn Miller, senior
Erik Waderker, senior
Cody Sellers, senior
Trent Gainer, senior
Steven Francis, junior
Drew Nestor, junior
DJ Biles, junior
Ryan Leasure, sophomore
Bryce Pittenger, sophomore
Jake Ullman, freshman
with only Waderker, Miller, Francis, Gainer, and Nestor with any varsity experience.
