FF is 16-3 and this guy acts like they have no shot to win sectional even though they are higher seed.MC and FF are in same bracket. 2.Fort Frye 16-3 vs 5.West M 10-10. 3.MC 15-4 vs 4.Bellaire 12-8

ANOTHER BUZZER-BEATER GAME BETWEEN FF AND MC.

You couldn't slide a piece of paper between these two teams, they're that even.

Agreed its a coin flip everytime they play.MC matches up great with FF.That being said as a team FF has had more success then Monroe.17-3 PVC Champs AA OVAC Champs. Then again MC could turn around and beat FF on March 5th.Both teams have a lot of work to do in round 1.Its tourney time.Shumacher,Hill, and Baker had big scoring games making MC more well rounded.

Surfsider why doesn't FF have a shot at districts? They are the top seed on that side of the bracket and are 17-3.

Just thinking FF might have trouble beating MC a 3rd time is all. Listened to the game today. Nice comeback from 7-0 down in 1st and then hittin' that '3' at the quarter's end. Was in Krogers and never got to hear the finish.

I wouldn't look past Bellaire if I were MC, but then again, that program has dipped significantly.

Not even sure who Fort Frye lost to this season, but I hope some team in the PVC does carry the flag far in the tournaments. Congrats on PVC and OVAC titles.

Like Coach Taylor said on radio, it was FF making one more play than MC and it won the game at OUE.

Shon Smith made the 3 at the end of qt 1.Also he made the big 3 to tie game with 1 min left.Only a sophmore this kid is going to be special.I'm sure round 4 if they meet again it will be a battle. The teams understand eachothter so much.I doubt who won rounds 1-3 will have anything to do with rd 4.

Watched the highlights on channel 7 and 9. I think they're available on their websites too. Fort Frye kid sure was in great position for that putback at the end. Nice story in times leader about Liedtke. Good grief, he's got 3 daughters who can hoop it up.

^^^^ Monroe Central
Yep, but.....they are part of the old Skyvue tradition (they still use the old Skyvue gym) which is hard to discount.

An off-shooting night by the teams they face at Meadowbrook, and they could be on their way to New Philly.

Not much of the Skyvue tradition left, sad to say. Woodsfield people never really embraced it.

I'd say Vegas wouldn't set the line for this one for more than one possession no matter who's the favorite.

The Skyvue gym, ahh that brings back memories.. Last time I was in there, 30+ yrs ago, I was escorted out by Monroe Co. Sheriff Dept. The person I went to the game with got a free ride in Tinker's cruiser,.. back to Woodsfield High School. No charges. One of the Skyvue fans took one of Woodsfields old Whammy Towels from a kid in the stands and we proceded to get it back, via accross the middle of the court, while the game was being played. Steely Dan was one of the Woodsfield five on the court at the time.

Yep, I remember the days of Eric Heft (Iowa State) @ ol' Golden Hawks' gym, and then watchin' Hannahs, Hilverding, etc. roll all the way to the state 2 years in a row.
No charges, eh? Was Steely any good at hoops? I might remember him playing. Did he ever slide off the stage?

I could hold my own, SS. Now, sliding off the stage, I had that down to an "Art". Actually, I sent tons of shots into the cheap seats with my shot blocking prowess. I preferred to send the ball off the stage, not my lanky body (boy, wish I still had that lanky frame, LOL!).

Great memories playing ball for WHS, and playing against the Golden Hawks of Skyvue, as well as the Pilots from River, and the boys from Beallsville. River had the nicest court in the county, IMHO....... (I shot the ball better there than anywhere!)

Boy, those Whammy towels were nothing but sheer trouble, with a capital "T"!!!!!

What great memories......

What is funny, we knew there was trouble, but believe or not, we simply ignored it and kept focused on the game. To this day, that is remarkable. That tells you how much that game meant to us, we didn't want to lose to Skyvue, River, or Beallsville, ever. That being said, we were all pretty good friends once the season was over, and enjoyed playing summer league ball with all the school's players (including Frontier, with Kirkpatrick's damned elbows!) mixed up on different teams. Good memories.
