Final: South Webster 54 Portsmouth 47
Re: Final: South Webster 54 Portsmouth 47
As always nice insight from Trojan Dave...I still think despite the injuries and suspension the Trojans had the personnel to win this game...just didn't get it done

bball06: You're right......we still had the personnel to win the game.......because we did have the lead in the 4th quarter........scoring 6 points in the 4th quarter will probably get you beat 90% of the time in a tight road game.

I'm pretty sure last night's win gave the Jeeps a 5-4 edge all-time agaist Portsmouth, going back to when the series began in the 02-03 season.

Lol. So when I say we are not thin....You didn't comprehend that???? Who is this joker! You have no credibility if you think this team can't go 8 deep right now....and that's without Bendolph and Whitley. Nevermind anything else you say, you need more people....and I still won't believe you.
Re: Final: South Webster 54 Portsmouth 47
I like your loyalty and your enthusiasm jgordan...delusional but a positive glass half full kind of guy...I like that but I also think you are coo coo for cocoa puffs...LOL...are you looking at the Celtics roster or PHS? Hey maybe you see something I don't see...I think when Whitley and Bendolph are healthy they can go 8 deep but not right now...just because your name is listed on the roster doesn't mean you can play...I should know because I used to be one of these guys...best seat in the house

if you dont have anything good to say about these KIDS ,that are working their butts off , why say anything?
as for the Notre Dame game, I dont think it mattered much what kind of D they played, they could have hung 100 omn N D if they wanted , playing a team like N D , does not prepare a Portsmouth team for its schedule, they need to do away with this Scrimmage all together.

Not saying anything bad just my opinion that they don't go 8 deep at this point...if you look at some of my earlier posts I think there is some talent and depth in the future when everyone is healthy and eligible but not at this point...I like the team as a whole especially in 3-4 weeks
Also... the ND scrimmage is more for the community so I say continue this scrimmage every year!

Good win for the Jeeps and coach Ater. But, I think Portsmouth should not lose to a local D4 school, with or without Bendolph. The Trojans have superior athletes at nearly every position?
I watched Valley beat them last season and it was the same..superior team with the advantage at 4 of 5 positions and yet does not get it done? Very confusing?

sportsfan - interesting to hear you state "if you don't have anything good to say" in one breath , and in the next state " we could have hung a 100 on ND" . I guess you coulda hung 50 on big bad South Webster also. MD

was just pointing out they could have , but coach Collins and his staff has more class then that, twist it how ever you want.
South Webster is a very good team with some very good basketball players, so losing to them and only scoring 40 some points is not surprising, no matter how bad yuou think they may be.

I watched this Portsmouth team this summer a couple times and they were very, very impressive,I feel and I would wager that coach Collins feels that with or without Bendolph they should have handled S.W. However it didnt happen and now Portsmouth must get to the drawing board, get focused because from the outside looking in there is no way they were focused and come up on the short end of the stick against S.W. and that is not taking anything away from the jeeps.Good luck to both teams.

Tobias, Thank you for the info..it appears PHS has held their own agianst the elite of the SOC..would it not be great for us to be in the SOC...I know, I know it will never happen but who in their right mind would have thought Nebraska would be playing in the Big 10 next year...just dreaming from afar....wipalawaltTobias wrote:8-4 over the previous 3 years....8-5 if you count last night's loss...wipala wrote:Would someone tell me PHS record against the SOC the last few years...Just curious...wipalawalt

Gene seems ok to me also but He did'nt exactly call the dogs off against ND. It's my opinion they scored every chance they got . Water under the bridge -- if the trojans bond together and play good team ball (SHARE IT) they should finish well above 500 this year.
Re: Final: South Webster 54 Portsmouth 47
Kind of off topic for this game, but I attended the Chillicothe/Portsmouth middle school games last night in Ptown. Who's the 7th grader for Portsmouth? #15 I believe? If that kid keeps growing and keeps his head on straight he'll be someone to keep an eye on. What a stud for just a 7th grader. Easily the best player for either team between both games.
Re: Final: South Webster 54 Portsmouth 47
missing bendolph? how? he didn't even play last year for the trojans. So what if he stayed at burg? which in my opinion p.h.s. shouldn't allow this to happen....he quit you once

yes, missing Bendolph, he has worked and played with the team all summer.
