Southern (1-1) @ Belpre (0-2)

Post by eaglefan1 »

Both teams coming off close losses, Southerns at home to Waterford, and Belpres on the road to South Gallia. Belpre comes in at 0-2 with 2 road losses, and Southern comes in at 1-1 with a win over River. Belpre's first home game of the season and Southern's first away game of the young season. I'll take Belpre at home in this one.

Belpre 59
Southern 50

I think it will be close but I give Southern the nod. They stuck with a solid Waterford team.

I'll take Southern by 5. With Southern having played River Valley then playing Belpre this week, makes me think of Coach Chris Stout. Anyone know where he is or where he might be coaching?

Chris Stout is still teachin at RV, i believe, and he is not allowed to coach ever again, because of his brain aneurysm, very very sad as Coach Stout was a great coach and a great person, he is still helping young people achieve in different ways. He always seem to get the best of the talent he had, his teams always played hard.

But as for the game, Belpre is tough to beat at home, Belpre shoots better, and just all around plays better when they are playin at the Nest. I'll stick with my prediction.

I'm thinking Belpre may finally break out of their shell and come together for a win. 65-52 Belpre.

Glad to see Stout is recovering . As for the game ... Belpre doesn't run an offensive set, Southern wins by 10

Anyone have starters for Southern, and what they've looked like so far this year?

The game I went to Manuel, Roseberry, Martin, Hill and Custer started. Their two tallest players in the program were 6"1.

Hoping the Eagles can stay away from the bad quarter and put together 4 quarters of solid ball and come out with their first home victory and first TVC Hocking win at home against Southern.Eagles had cold shooting 2nd quarters against Fort Frye and South Gallia and should come away with the win tonight.Lets go EAGLES!!!

Southern will win this one. Better coaching, and better players. Only thing that could keep it close is the officiating. You know how the Hocking division officiating can sometimes be. Hopefully a good crew has this game.

I thought all of his issues had past, well that was the last i heard anyway. Well i hope he is doing well. Coach Stout gets the most out of his players on the court and his kids in the classroom. Probably as much as anyone in both aspects.
