DII AP All-Ohio Honors
Re: DII AP All-Ohio Honors
AP seems to be accurate. So the others are from coaches? So coaches can vote for their own players?
Re: DII AP All-Ohio Honors
So proud of my boy for even making Honorable Mention, And to think he has another year to play...Looking forward to next season. (Well not really being it will be his last year.)
Re: DII AP All-Ohio Honors
I agree Yates should've been 2nd team all-district at worst.ShoeHorn wrote:Am I reading this right? Naylan Yates is not listed.
The state honors though I believe are set from each district. District POY = 1st team all state. First team all district fills out the rest of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd team all state. 2nd team all district gets you an automatic honorable mention all-Ohio and some special mentions.
Re: DII AP All-Ohio Honors
It really surprises me that Yates didn't get mentioned at all, I mean he averaged 17ppg. The ONLY thing I think it can be is that they feel Bartoe and Jones, gets the better defenders on them and it allows Yates to match up against the weaker defenders. Not many teams they face have 3 or 4 very good defensive players, then you also have to worry about VC big men to defend. That is the only thing I can think of, but that should never be held against him.
I think next year will be a true test of how great Yates is because he will get more of the better defenders on him.

Re: DII AP All-Ohio Honors
Like I said...pretty sure that was determined by him being 3rd team all-district. Had he been placed on 2nd team he would've been mentioned....had he made 1st team he would've been at least special mention...had he been district POY....he would've been 1st team all statetvc_fan wrote:It really surprises me that Yates didn't get mentioned at all, I mean he averaged 17ppg. Tristan was district poy and never got 1st team so I don't see any truth in this Yates should have been mentioned

Re: DII AP All-Ohio Honors
He got Coaches District 13 POY, not SE District AP POY. This is based off of the AP, not the Coaches. Ridge Young was the AP Player of the Year.Treeloc32 wrote:Tristan was district poy and never got 1st team so I don't see any truth in this Yates should have been mentioned
