I was expecting Manchester to come out on top but it was a good game for them. The Greyhounds are about to start league play and this will hopefully make them stronger down the stretch.

streetballer wrote:nice win lol...a win that the refs gave em...they didnt win it the refs gave it to em...seems like every foul was against manchester...15+ fouls in a half is un heard of and doesnt happen especially when the refs only call 6 on the other team...come on thats not a nice win..if the game had been called fair manchester would of won by 10+..so dont give any credit to the team for easterns win give the credit to the refs for callin wat should be considered the worst reffed game in history of high school basketball
your full of BS! I was there and there were a couple bad calls both ways and for the most part they lkept the whisles in there pockets. Don't blame the refs cause that is petty and childish..There were people from Eastern screaming the same thing until they won. It is way to easy to blame the Refs for a loss. Manchester got outplayed. They played a heck of a game, and those young men left it all on the court.
GROW UP!

Eastern won this game fair and square. Give credit when it is needed.

I wish people would grow up!!! This was a great game to watch. I really enjoyed it. The 4th quarter was so much fun. Both teams left it all on the court. I hope to see both teams come tourny time.

As we pulled up to Luke's visitation, we saw the entire Manchester bball team walking out to their bus. They stopped on the way home from their game to pay their respects. Classy move Hounds, classy move...my hat is off to you.

2 very good teams. I would be shocked if there are any better teams in D4 then these 2.

Manchester led 31-19 at the half and Blevins had 15.

He shot only 3 more times in the game. That was the biggest story, Coach Caldwell's halftime adjustments and his players execution of it. Taking out Blevins was the biggest key. Combs struggled big time early, but was able to turn it on late and keep his team in the game and give them a shot at the end for the win.

Both teams had gutsy players and while there were a few iffy calls in the game, it was far from the reason for the outcome of the game. Very entertaining game, well worth the price of admission.

Congrats to the Eagles! Way to represent the TVC. Eastern is definetly one of the most fundamental teams in Southeast Ohio.

that is respectful of the hounds to stop and show their respect to luke and hats off to em for showing their respect................as for the game it was not even and no manchester did not get out hustled, the refs gave it to eastern so face it.......hopefully we match up in districts up in athens again and itll be whole different story cause hounds will come away with victory when it matters the most in tourny time

Come on dude. If Manchester plays like they did in the first half they win. Eastern outplayed them in the second half and won.

looks like alot of posts on this subject are from people that were not at this game.....i hate to say this, but the officials did affect this game greatly ( not saying they did this purposely ) ......but it started late in the 2nd quarter and it got to the point around the middle of the third where the manchester boys looked downright scared to attempt to play any kind of defense......someone please post the stats of the game if you know them....eastern scored 54 pts....i'll bet you more than half...prob 30 or more came from the line....im not saying every call was bad,far from it...but some were outrageous....an over-the-back foul on blevins when all he did ( not embellishing ) was reach over his head ( without jumping ) for a rebound, but since an eastern player was much smaller, and jumped in front of blevins for the same rebound, but fell to the ground, mhs gets a foul called? ...it was over-all just bad officiating....and it was both ways....dalton west ( manchester ) got blocked late in the game at a crucial point....was clearly a clean block but eastern was called for the foul............in the 3rd blevins side-stepped an eastern player and cleanly blocked a shot ( out of bounds ) but was called for a foul.....2nd half fouls were 15-6 in favor of eastern.....1st half was 10 + didnt really pay attention at the time cause the 1st half was relatively fair ( fair as in bad calls and multiple calls for each team ) so thats 25+ fouls in a 32 minute game for 1 team for the guy that said "the refs kept the whistles in their pockets " ........after all that...eastern did come back and win, great effort by them, but at the same time it was just a horrible display of officiating

I only see two people crying about the officials, this game was played on a neutral court. Man up and take your loss and quit crying about the officials. It takes away the respect people have for your program and makes you look like a bunch of cry babies. I would like to read about a team getting beat one time without it being the officials fault, if not for the officials every team in southeast Ohio would be undefeated.

And could the fouls possibly be because Manchester was dragging at the end of the game, Looked like the Eagles out hustled them which led to lazy fouls. I saw some questionable calls both ways but it wasnt lopsided as everyone says. This has been blown out of proportion
