So the two teams combined for over 60 foul shots and shot a total of under 50%? Wow I'm glad I wasn't watching that one. Walk to the line and miss, go to the other end and miss. It's is good to see the Lancers get the win. The radio said they play tonight so good luck in making it 2 in a row.

Another question that maybe the Lancer folks can answer. How do you have a 7 footer in the TVC and he fouls out and doesn't score a point and didn't even lead in rebounding? Has souther got a big kid that shut him down?

He's 7 foot tall how hard would it be this past summer to spend a little time with him stay at the post, catch the ball, keep it above your head, pivot and shoot. There isn't many in the TVC gong to block it. Is he only a sophomore?

I've heard several people blame Butcher, Vales and Chadwell for the non development of the younger players since they picked up and left. FH seems to have a good young group of athletes and if they had been worked with in Junior Hight may be doing a little better now.

Great one you bring up some very good points here. From rumor on the street I believe the 7 footer although a junior is sophomore age so for his age I believe he is maturing very well because it takes the bigger kids longer to physically mature. If you remember D.J. Cunningham from Waterford he didn't really come into his own until his Sr. year and he is playing D1 at NC Asheville (I believe).

From the few games I've watched I believe the Lancers need to work harder at getting the ball to Saylor and involving him in the offense. Yes, this has several people in the area scratching their heads because from my limited exposure he has a very nice shot.

As far as the past, let it be the past but I do believe you bring up a valid point about lack of developement. This is presenting itself in lack of good fundamentals so any coach coming in new has his hands full if a solid program and fundamentals weren't taught way back when. That's what seperates programs that are competitive year after year versus those who have wide swings. Granted some years are better than others but solid programs teach the game in a consistent manner and then the players resemble the program. Hats off to Howie Caldwell at Easteran for a strong program.

Good luck to this fine group of young men and hopefully the Lancers can get a consistent program going with good fundamentals at an early age. Let's define fundamentals - passing, ball handling, blocking out, rebounding, pickin' and screening, seeing the floor, team play, decision making, self-discipline and then shooting ........it takes it all to be successful.

Go Lancers!

Catch One - it takes both, good coaching and developement/fundamentals from the top down. Hoping to see the big man get more involved as the season goes on.

Sometimes great game coaches have weak programs and if given natural talent they can coach it and the flip side is if given a group of normal talent can't develope them. Some can do both, some can do neither. A good coach does both and consistent programs can do both. Good basketball players aren't "born" with very few exceptions but perhaps good athletes are. It's what you do with the athletic ability and how you train it that counts.

Your son if I recall was the JV coach and when the 7 footer went to play at Waterford (DJ's senior year) it would have made the 7footer a freshman and your son let him sit on the bench. So kudos to your Coaching Catchone

amazinghocks you are amazing. Explain to me how a JV coach can make the call over the head coach. you dont make since. I am not saying he is a bad player, he has come a long way.
he has worked this past summer with one of the best around. I am just saying like you and everybody else get him the ball under the basket, not out at the 3pt. line. Thats Coaching

So what you're saying is that you and your school like to take pride in ripping teams off?
