It appears East is trying to stall! lol - jk. They also called off the game with Western last night at 4 pm I was told on here. Makes me think of the line from the movie "Rocky" - "You can run but you cant hide". or at least I think it came from that movie.

no reason to call of todays game. I don't understand how this helps East having to play so many games at the end of the year.

Is it possible East just didn't think it was safe enough to travel to and from the game?

It may have been worse in the hills of Sciotoville. Perhaps a better move for SW. lets face it, its going to be a blowout in favor of the jeeps, coming into the Burg off a 40+ win would hurt them some.

Vinton County and Logan could have played, the roads were cleared by noon. It was on Facebook and the rumor up at Mama Renie's that the new AD canceled the games at 8 or 8:30 in the morning, didn't even give it a chance for it to clear and the crews to work. I heard someone at the girls game the other night say that the athletic department was hurting for money. They are even creating fire hazards by gating off doors near the gym to keep people from sneaking in. I think with nothing else to do on a Saturday night in the middle of January, a tripleheader, a close school with a good fan base, I am sure that the gate receipts would have been good. So to cancel the game was either they have money or it was stupid and or lazy.

I believe East also called off Friday nights game against Western, so with SW and now proably Clay tomorrow they are going to struggle to get them all in. I don't believe the hills in Sciotoville are any bigger than those at all the other schools. Beside, if you live back in a hollow, you surely are going to have tranportation to get in and out of a 2 inch snow.

It always amazes me to hear people criticize administration when games are cancelled. I'm sure those in charge of other people's children want to err on the side of caution. Besides, two of those game are SOC games and must be made up and I'm sure East will reschedule with SW or they wouldn't have scheduled the game in the first place.
