2-1 Fed @ Southern
Re: 2-1 Fed @ Southern
Always tough to get a win at Southern, but if the Lancers can play with Eastern, Wahama, Waterford, and beat Trimble in Glouster, I see no reason why they can't win this game.
Re: 2-1 Fed @ Southern
Southern is certainly one of the more hostile places to get a win. FH is working hard........I say they don't go down without a huge effort. Southern needs to take them really seriously.
Too close to call.
Go Lancers!

Tough loss for the Lancers, and congrats to the Does.
Did they have the super humidifier running and the gym at 98 degrees tonight? If it wasn't a suana, that would be a first........

Andrew Roseberry scored 14 points to lead Southern to a 48-39 win over Federal Hocking in a TVC-Hocking match-up. Shawn Parsons hit three three-pointers to lead FedHock with nine points, but the Lancers fall to 4-11 overall and 3-9 in the Hocking. Here's the HH Game Recap!

Re: 2-1 Fed @ Southern
Fed is having problems being mentally prepared for their games. In sports there are no nights off. FH is struggling with parimeter defense and baseline protection and they struggle playing guard oriented teams.
Congrats to Southern. Lancers you have to keep working hard. This team has turned in some really good performances but you've got to "stay in the moment" in all of them.

Will Federal Hocking win 20 total games all sports season this year? If you add up football, girls and boys basketball and baseball will they win a total of twenty games? They have 1 football win and 4 basketball wins between the boys and girls so that's 5.

Federal Hocking Boys Cross Country TEAM won the TVC-Hocking and qualified for Regionals. They have been the biggest success story for the Lancers this year.
Who is to blame for the Lancers overall weak athletics this year?
a) The Student Athletes
b) The Coaches
c) The Athletic Director
d) The Principal/Superintendent
e) The Economy
f) The Parents
g) All of the Above
h) None of the Above ?

Everything in high school athletics runs in cycles. When you're on top, chances are you will soon be on the bottom.

Greatone let's put the stones down. You're quick to point out struggles but slow to recognize the 2010 FH Baseball team that made the Elite 8 in DIII last year and lost in the regional finals after a tremendous season and tourney run. Congrats to the Cross Country team, great work!!
Also heard the Meat Judging Team made Nationals in Denver, CO I believe. As GymRat88 stated ever program has their up and downs.
Go Lancers, behind you no matter what!

Re: 2-1 Fed @ Southern
Sorry, I don't see anyone casting stones, just making an observation based on results. Now, how it is framed for the post, you may not like, but the results to date speak for themselves. And I'm not trying to whack the hornet's nest to get everyone riled up. Let's be honest about the results, and take them for what they are. I know the kids that are participating are giving it their all, and the results are not up to historical standards at the school.
I think that we all need to realize that there are many dynamics that have created the results that we are now seeing from an athletics standpoint, like it or not.

I did consider listing President Barrack Obama, but thought that might be a stretch.
Re: 2-1 Fed @ Southern
As you may have noticed I wasn't counting Cross country or Track. Does anyone really attend those? I'm not casting stones just may a statement and asked a question involving the most popular sports and the ones that generate the money for those others. I wasn't counting the 2010 team either. I said this year starting with football in the fall of 2010 and ending with baseball. I understand that the school only pays the head coach and the lower level coaches or assistants get no pay. I also understand you never have teaching jobs to offer a potential good coach that could move in and work at the school and be in contact with the students and community on a day to day basis. Before Federal Hocking rides again I think those two issues need addressed.

Runners and their friends/family attend cross country meets - and are very happy to do so.
The Federal Hocking Boys Basketball team has struggled this year, but should be VASTLY improved next year. They have a decent JV team and will also have a solid group of returning Seniors next year in Chris Saylor, Jon Skidmore, Austin Russel, Ty Hatfield, and Josh Coen.
In small high schools, talent comes and goes in cycles and waves - Ride it when you can!
