Free throw shooting late was key. Marietta 7/10 and Warren 6/7 for the game by my notes. However late when Marietta was down 2, they went to the line for the one and bonus to tie and missed the front end. Then Warren held the ball and Marietta tried for steals and fouled twice by Grosel and Riley. That put Warren in the one and bonus and Ward was fouled and hit both ends for a 4 point lead. Then Warren got the ball back on a turnover, I believe it was on a post feed attempt, and Knost went to the line for the bonus and made the front end, but missed the back end. Then Kriechbaum made a trey to cut it to 56-54 with 16 sec. Marietta nearly stole the ball when Warren threw it in bounds with the tight quarters with all the fans lining the court, but Venham was fouled and made both ends to get it to two possessions, and that was all the scoring.

The game at Marietta Warren won due to their good pressure defense getting turnovers in the 4th qtr, and in this one they didn't really have to rely on that since they had the lead all the way from the first basket of the 2nd qtr when they had their 14-4 run. Marietta was never able to get even after that to put Warren under duress so they could see if they could handle the press any better this time around.

I just hope that we can get a strike of luck and Marietta can play Warren at the Convo. Good refs, neutral court, we might be seeing a different outcome.
