while this is true, Mayo only played 3 yrs of ohio basketball AND all these players have one thing in common, at least ONE state title. Congrats to blake on the points.

Thats very true. If im not mistaken Blake still has one more oppurtunity though :122249 . Every other player menioned also had the benefit of at least one other future D1 player(and in OJ's case NBA player in Bill Walker).

Aldrige only had Waginger for one year after he transfered.

I'm not putting down the Justice kid, he's a nice player. However he's not the caliber of Mayo, Cook, or even Dante Jackson (another SE player). Although I would take him over Aldrige.

Waginger was unbelievable and had a better college career than Aldridge...Waginger gave OJ Mayo all he wanted and about knocked off the immaculate Mayo team in the finals.

I dont think I ever said he was as good as two NBA players....just posting notables he passed on the all-time list.

Another kid that kept Ironton in that game was the center that transferred in there from Kentucky. Can't remember his name but he dominated NCH. He was a monster all night long.

And a lot of you may not remember Eastern Brown had essentially had Ironton beat. They were up 5 with about a 1:30 left, and ended up giving it away. Ironton made a great run, and that 05 team was a very nice group.

Waginger had a very nice career at Western Carolina and was a 4 yr starter. He had some of the quickest hand i've ever seen.

That same year that Ironton almost beat NCH, Eastern very nearly beat Ironton in Reedsville... Lost on a shot in the last second or so by 1 or 2 points... That game that Eastern lost was probably the best game I've ever seen Eastern play!
