Warren Vs. Marietta "Game 3" February 26

Post by Snowman79 »

Great matchup again in Logan, between these two local rivals.. fans of either team or those are fans of just good post season basketball, will love this game! Warren's won the first two meetings between the teams. Trip to the Convo is on the line...

Give your opinions, thoughts, predictions.. say what you got to say.

If I ignore this will it go away? I want The Warriors to win. Its just one of those games that you have to play to the final buzzer. Its and adrenaline junkies dream come true. Should be exciting.

The hardest thing in sports to do is beat a good team 3 times in a row. Warren should win this game but they will have to play 4 quarters of basketball. It will be a very close game. Who wants it more??

I look for Marietta to win a close one. Getting Hess back will help with some of the banging inside. I look for Marietta to hold Warren under 60 and shoot well enough to win. Warren has had trouble lately and I think the fact that it is so hard for a team to beat another team 3 times especially when they are so evenly matched as these two teams (some unbiased refs might help, in reference to the game in vincent).

I'm a firm believer that experience during this time of the year helps teams advance. With that said, I don't see Warren losing this one! This is the biggest stage that any of the Marietta players have ever been on in their basketball careers! The hype won't get to AC, Venham and the boys! I see the Seniors stepping up and leading this team to a sectional championship, and trip to the Convo!

ohiobaseball25: I'm not sure if you attended both games but i did; and the refs were biased in both games. Both victories Warren earned. But i do agree seeing some unfavored refs could make the true team stand out a little more.

Warren picks up their 3rd win against Marietta, IMO.

I saw both Marietta-Warren games this year also, and I thought the officiating was decent for both games. However, in the JV game at Warren, it was another story...that little girl from Belpre that "called" the game definitely likes Warren! One of her partners that night is a Warren resident and he sucks at ALL games. Warrior in WV: this may be sectional finals, but Jackson HS gym is hardly the "big stage". Marietta will be comfortable playing there. It will be a close, loud, hot, heated contest for sure!

Tigger, the "big stage" is a figure of speech for playing in the biggest and most important game of their lives! The Warren boys have been there before, and I feel that will make a big difference! I really wouldn't be surprised if Warren wins by more than 10!

The losers are always the ones to holler "we got robbed". Get over it, get better, win the third matchup.

That being said, Go Tigers !!!

I feel experience doesn't matter as much as everybody says, just look at the pro sports world over the last year. The Giants won the WS over the Rangers neither team was expected to be on that stage. The Packers won the Super Bowl over a team that had so much playoff experince, that experince didn't work to well for the steelers if you ask me. Then just last weekend Trevor Bayne won the Daytona 500 there isnt a big stage in motorsports besides maybe the Indy500 or the 24 hours of Le Mans. He isnt even suppose to run a full year in the series. If you ask me these are some pretty big stages and experience didn't pull through for the losers. But with that being said Ill take the Tigers by 4 in a close one. The Purple Palace is gonna be packed for this one!!

WarriorinWV: I knew what you meant by "big stage" but I don't consider sectionals the "Bigs". My point was the Marietta-Warren game is always a big one and the game is played on a floor familiar to both teams.

Marietta is a team that starts 3 seniors and 2 juniors. All players have enjoyed success at some level at any of the sports they've played. I do not think Warren has superior experience because of their run last year, but once the game starts all that is thrown out the door. This game is going to be determined by who wants it more.

Funny!!! Now we have people comparing high school 14-18 year-olds, with paid professional athletes! Lol!! No comparison!!! They are kids, and the pressure will show in the 4th quarter! If Cunninham makes his FTs down the stretch when Marietta is fouling trying to stay in the game? Warren will win by 10 or more!

Warren does have experience in big games THIS SEASON unlike Marietta, which will help them in so many ways.
The tigers coaching staff can't let the team meltdown like they did against warren the first games and just the other night against VC...
Tigerrfan, this is varsity, I don't think anybody cares nor is it relavent to complain about the JV reffing in the 2nd Warren game... Marietta's JV got beat, it happens.. I'm sure your opinion of her performance was just as biased as her reffing may had been.
