Joining the TVC this year has helped SG tremendously. They have improved week to week. Seemed like they were in a nail biter every week.

From what I understand, because eastern has both their girls and boys in the district tournaments and they were scheduled to play on the same day, SG vs WO was moved to Thursday and eastern and fairfield moved to thursday

Re: District Semi - Whiteoak vs. South Gallia
does whiteoak play on the ball man to man? sg has struggled with the tough man teams all year. matneys are about 6' 1" not near 6' 3" tall ,lol
see them all the time. 2 good hard nosed players.
sounds like this is a pretty even matchup ?
good luck rebels!

pretty cool they have a set of twins. Id be interested to see how much alike they play. Are their games similar? is one better than the other?
Interesting!

The Matney twins play very different games. Dalton plays a down low type of game, and Danny plays outside but can go down low. Also they both are about equal in talent.theuglytruth wrote:Blue_nd_Gray wrote:does whiteoak play on the ball man to man? sg has struggled with the tough man teams all year. matneys are about 6' 1" not near 6' 3" tall ,lol

Whiteoak had twins about 5 years ago...one was 5'9 and the other was 6'8...they had different games!

I thought this thread would get more action. South Galia must think they have this in the bag. I would not count out White Oak here. Just might be the best game in the districts for the shl. Go Wildcats.

I would put Whiteoak at a 6-8 point favorite on the neutral floor. Aside from a few games all of SG's games have been within 10 points. Also, their record is substantially better on their home court.

Re: District Semi - Whiteoak vs. South Gallia
I doubt SG thinks they have this one in the bag. If anything I would say they are a slight underdog. Shutdown has been here and done it before, this is the furthest South Gallia has ever made it in the tourney and they are trying to write their own history. I expect a good physical game. Hopefully the Rebels can pull it out and advance.shlfanatic wrote:I thought this thread would get more action. South Galia must think they have this in the bag. I would not count out White Oak here. I would somewhat have to disagree with you. Danny does plays more of a perimeter game but Dalton can play both an inside and outside type of game. I would say Dalton is in the top three for threes made on the team. Both players are versatile and can both run the court. The Matney twins play very different games. Dalton plays a down low type of game, and Danny plays outside but can go down low. Also they both are about equal in talent.
