Is is a down year for D4 Boys?
Re: Is is a down year for D4 Boys?
I'd say it 's more even than down. SE D4 has been pretty successful since 2001.

Good point, there is no knock you off your feet favorite D4 team in SEO this year. If you look at some of the topics posted on here for D4 teams, there is less response and bantering going on this year compared to most years.

There is no state champion this year in D4 like there have been in the past. Top to bottom SEO is pretty tough in all divisions.

There is not a lot of evidence to support it being a down year!!
Eastern Meigs won the TVC Hocking with and finished 18-4
South Webster played very few D4 schools on their schedule and posted a 18-4 record to this point.
Manchester played very few D4 schools on their schedule and posted a 16-5 record to this point.
Symmes Valley tied for the SOC 2 title and finished with an impressive 17-4 record - got upset in sectional to SG.
Green finishes the season at 15-6 getting put out of the tournament by a D2/D3 battle tested Whiteoak team.
Whiteoak and Fairfield played primarily a D2/D3 schedule and are currently 11-11 and 10-11 and still playing in the tourny.
All together (if Whiteoak wins tomorrow night) there will be 14 D4 teams who are at or above .500 for the season out of 19 total teams.
I think I would put these numbers/records up against other Districts for comparison.

Nos. 1 and 2 in the state in the Eastern District... Zanesville Rosecrans and Hiland. Might be Hiland's best team in 10 years. Rosecrans underclassmen dominated, looks good for this year and next.
