Never forget were I came from and played ball for. Its just hard to make it to games when you have 4 kids going to another school. I was sitting on Ptowns side during the Burg game in the front row. My oldest son had a baseball game yesterday but I listen to the game on radio on the way home from Morehead. I was telling all 4 kids and wife to be quiet there was 10 seconds left, lol. I also will be up in Columbus at 2 for the game and hope they bring that 5th banner home Saturday. Go Trojans!!!

It is 14 now that was just the results through 2010. I was just showing people that Portsmouth has always been known for great basketball around the state. They are now tied for 2nd all time in State Appearances with Middletown. We have a chance to move up a spot with 5 State Titles. These young men have marked a spot in Trojan history with a State Appearance. And now have a chance to do what very few ever done WIN A STATE TITLE. GO TROJANS!

Wow....crazy how life goes....Lisath turns down the Portsmouth job after taking Piketon to the Final 4 and losing to Cleveland Central Catholic; two years later his friend Eugene Collins takes Portsmouth to the Final 4 to play Cleveland Central Catholic (some of the same players on the roster). I heard Lisath gave a "pep talk" to the Trojans before the Peake game...I guess he could tell Collins what not to do against the Ironmen .

I have nothin against portsmouth or all my post friends it's just that i had a run in with some fans after the burg - ports game. They were actin cocky toward me and a couple friends. That is why i said go CCC.

Good grief. Grow up. I cant believe someone from our area would get on here and root for against a local team in the state tournament. What a crybaby.

Mad Dogg turns to me and asks who I think will win the region and I simply say Portsmouth will win it and he tells me they have no chance. Then a a day before the game against Peake he sends me a message out of the clear blue and tells me Peake will beat Portsmouth by 20+. I send a message back to him asking if he wants to give me 20 points and Portsmouth for a few dollars. I tell him whoever wins this game will win it by 5-8, ended up being a few off, but I knew it would be a dogfight. Well after the game last night he sends me a message saying Portsmouth got lucky again. How the heck did the get lucky? The flat out played the Peake. Then he come back with I hope they lose, I can't stand Portsmouth.

Me personally will root for any team in SEO when it comes to tournament play and that's the way all the posters on here should be. I might root for the other team against Burg if they are playing another SEO team, that's the West Sider in me, but when it comes to playing someone out of the district I will pull for the Burg. What class Mad Dogg.

I"ll be up at the Schott rooting them on and GOOD LUCK TROJANS!!!!!! Bring that STATE TITLE back down South!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People know who Portsmouth is. When I was High school at Portsmouth we was always at the Convo or farther. You just dont have the teams and state banners and runner ups Portsmouth has had since the 1930"s and not be known. People might not act like they know but deep in their head they know

Nice post, you are how everybody in southern ohio should be. I know that I went to Portsmouth and my kids go to another school but I still root for the Trojans, its just in me being from the Red and Blue. I remember back in high school Burg beat my school Ptown in 1984 by 11 in overtime to take the District and go to the State I watched them come home with the runner up trophy but they had me backing them.
