Are they clearing the gyms

Post by crazymidgets »

Just curious if they are clearing the gyms at Waverly after the first game for the sectional or can we get 2 games for the price of 1?

Jackson is clearing the gym as well according to WNXT radio plus $5 to park (unless they raised it).

$5 to park at Jackson, that just ain't right. If I were going to any games in Jackson this weekend, which I'm not, I'd walk the hill before I would give them five bucks to park.

At $90 a pop for each of the 3 refs on the floor plus the 2 at the scorers table, I guess they have to recup that money somehow. Can't believe they pay that much. Especially when you get subpar officiating half of the time. Most of the good refs are pulled toward Columbus, and Athens.

It isn't $90 bucks a pop and the refs are assigned by the district board where they are going do they aren't pulled anywhere. They give the class every year I don't think they pick and choose who can take the class.

Most sectionals either clear gym or space games 3 hrs apart. That's why I love the convo.

Wow apparent Indiandan4life has no clue. Why would the state want to pay mileage at the sectional level if they dont have too. You will see the better officials from southern ohio this weekend at waverly, southeastern, and jackson.

The state doesn't have anything to do with the sectional and district tournaments the Southeast District Board does. They do pay milage at all levels, if you travel a certain amount of miles. The "better" officials are supposed to be working on the tournament level.

Officials get paid $70 per game....$60 during the regular season. And I'm pretty sure every gym makes that in popcorn alone.

But $5 is still ridiculous! Last few years it has only been $2?

There is a rate for sectional, district, regional and state games so some officials may make $70 and some may make $150. Regular season games are usually paid by a league rate it don't think anyone paid $60 this year.

Parking in Jackson is $2.00. And the ALL the sectionals are clearing the gym for the championship games. It's not a schools decision, it's the SE District's decision.

I'm curious why the SE District Board would decide to clear EVERY gym between games at the sectional level? I was thinking about going to Logan for the LE/Athens game and staying for the VC/FU game this Friday --- but i'm not going to go now! I don't want to pay twice and i definitely don't want to kill 1 1/2 hrs between games......so, the SE just lost my $6 ticket and Logan boosters just lost all of my concession $$. Don't see any winners in this situation. Go back to having the games one session please!
