First off, I'm not saying that Manchester won't win this game. But streetballer, you are a trip. Using the two KY teams to tell show how "battle tested" the Hounds are is great. This is your post about St. Patrick's before the game.....
streetballer wrote:Yeah I agree manchester does not have much of a bench but hell st pat has only one good player on their whole team and no one else on their team is hardly any good..I've seen st pat play at mason county and they were straight killed...hounds by 20
Also, White Oak just got hammered by 28 in the tourney by Webster and North Adams gave Northwest one of their 2 wins this season. Manchester has played some good teams, but they haven't beaten any of them. Combs is good enough to take Manchester to regionals, but I think the road ends here.

Southern by 6.

Southern has no one the caliber of combs..he will be the best player on the court by a long shot...manchesters bench has proven a lot more since that post..manchester has a few players capable of scorin in bunches..I don't think southern will be able to keep up with manchesters speed...

Southern 1-5 is the most athletic team in D4 this year. So you might want to tell the boys from Manchester to lace em up tight. I watched Manchester last year so unless they got a couple track star transfers who just happen to be basketball players then you'll need to find another advantage for the Hounds. I will agree with Combs being the best offensive player on the floor though.

The best 5 teams around hear IMO and I have seen all of them that's left play this year are
1. Southern
2.Eastern Pike
3.Notre Dame
4.South Webster
5. Manchester

Opinions are easy to give like saying the soc coaches are screwing the hounds. Combs and Rikketts are ballers no question about it but the 5 teams I have above them have super talent as well and weather or not you want to beleave me my sons team played Manchester,x1 Noter Dame x2, Eastern x3, this year the hounds are not anywhere near as good as they were last year so quit crying foul play on hear and set back and enjoy the tourney. And maybe the hounds will prove me wrong . We will see shortly if everyone is seated wrong . No matter what Manchester would have been seated they would have to go the same path there on now cause of how the sectional is played out you cant get to state and not have to beat a couple good teams so relax if there as good as you keep saying then why are you sweating it. Let's all watch and enjoy.

Lightle: SOC I coaches putting New Boston as the 3 seed above Manchester is screwing Manchester no matter how you spin it. Notre Dame deserved the 1 seed and Eastern Pike deserved their 2 seed in the Wellston bracket, but don't you think Eastern is much happier playing East as opposed to Manchester? Racine Southern is the real loser though in the yearly SOC I coaches' shenanigans.*

All that it is is a bunch of politics on the seeding!! I have been to the tournament draw and the SHL always gets shafted. The SOC coaches always make sure that 2 of the 3 SHL schools play each other!! But its tournament time and u have to show up no matter what!! Go Hounds!!

Yeah manchester is not as good as they were last year but hell neither is all of d-4 in se ohio...the southeast region in d-4 is wide open for any team to win it this year...if manchester plays their style of ball its hard for any team to beat them...enough with the debate its gameday let the boys settle it on the court

streetballer,

I think that might be the first post I've ever read from you that actually seems somewhat intellegient. I can't speak for others, but I actually agree with what your post said for the most part. I think D-4 in the SE is much more balanced this year, with 5-6 teams having a legitimate shot of winning it. I don't know if I agree with the statement that everyone else is down from last year, but in all fairness to you, I don't think that's very important to the point. Personally, I think South Webster has established themselves as playing the best basketball at the time being, which is absolutely important at tourney time. I also really like the way Notre Dame plays as a team with some depth and balance. But, I think any of Southern, Eastern Pike or Manchester could also win a District Title this year as well.

. But they would still be in a very tuff game at this point against Eastern Pike I'm not saying they didn't deserve the 3 I'm saying you have to win the games you play and it's hard to say New Boston didnt deserve the 3 they had a better record . If they would take strength of schedual into consideration this would be resolved but they typically don't . The only answer in my mind is SHL teams need to pad there record more I mean it won't get then as prepared for the tourney but will get them a better draw.Play some of the D-4 teams New-Boston does you guys are a good team but like I said you would still be in a battle with the Eastern Eagles the #2 team on this side of the tourney.

On a different note if the Rikkets kid plays like he did last game this could be a barn burner but in the end Southern I think will dominate the boards and that will be the deciding factor . Southern 63 Manchester 56

Someone educate me on how the seeding works. I believe the schools that play at Valley, for instance, all vote on the seeding at that site only. So that would be mostly SOC-1's and SHL teams. Southern is in TVC - Hocking and begin play at another site. The tournament starts and upsets happen. How can the SOC be screwing Southern? Schools have to play each other sometime, LOL.

I wasn't meaning that the others teams in the district are down from last year wat I meant is that its a down year compared to last year overall in the district..its wide open any team can win it..ricketts was on at the game in lucasville and if he comes playin like that tonight it could be a barn burner...idk that southern will dominate the boards cause gaffin has been rebounding great as of late and combs for bein 6-2 is a real good rebounder...gameday time for the boys to settle it on the court
