Eastern Pike vs. Columbus Africentric - Regional Final

^^^^^ Its no so much recruiting as it is limiting enrollment. Africentric is a quai private school that is housed in a small school. They limit their enrollment because their building wont hold more. It would be just like Pike Christian in Waverly, their building is small, they have enrollment requirements that limits who can come in which limits enrollment, they can dismiss students easier than public, put this in an urban area like Columbus where they can attract talent and you have a great program built in a short time. Look at Harvest Prep, same situation.

You cant fault the school, they are playing within the guidelines. Imagine if Pike Christian attracted Kretzer and other top player from Waverly and the rest of Pike county and stayed in D IV, they would be great as well. However, socioeconomics keeps schools like Notre Dame and Ironton St. Joe from doing so.

I watched Africentric at the Ironton shootout this summer beat Chillicothe and Portsmouth and pretty much knew than that the D4 teams in SEO wouldn't stand a chance to make it out of the regionals. Its not bad enough they dropped from D3 to D4 but they had to stick them in our SEO regional too. The only way for a D4 team to make it to the state now is to go out and recruit all the best players to one school. What a shame that high school basketball has turned into this.

Streetsweeper, how would you say harvest prep was better than Africentric? When did the play? How bad did HP win by? Why don't you quit trying to make Manchester look so bad all the time. EP actually beat Manchester so get over yourself.

Great Job Eagles! So many great accomplishments from this group, you will live in Eagle history as one of the great teams.Best of luck to the seniors and Thank You for one heck of a ride. To all returning Eagles, next season starts TODAY so stay in the gym, keep shooting lifting and doing everything you can to improve your game. Great players are born in your free time in the summer, and Championships are born during shootouts,scrimmages,camp and every time Coach Fitch opens the gym doors be there as a team ready to get better.

As for Africentric, wow what a team and so much athleticism. They had 14-15 guys on the bench and played every single one and didn't miss a beat out there. I can't imagine them not rolling through whoever they play in the Final 4.
