Heard open gyms have been going good and competative with a few alumni comeing in to make the varsity boy have to work. The boys are going to Hillsboro,Chesapeake , and Waverly for shoot outs summer league at Jackson and team camp coach Fitch has them working hard this summer to try to get the team ready for a tuff league schedual and anouther tourney run.

But I thought Bobst was the little black kid, shooter. I thought he was freshman?

Bobst was a short, white stocky kid that played in the post. The freshman you are talking about was Thacker. From what I ahve heard, he is playing very well and will be a factor next season

The boys are working hard can't wait to see them play this summer and see what style of ball they play. This years team is going to be super fast. And can score from anywhere.

I have seen those boys play and they are fun to watch. They seem to have a busy summer schedule with team camp, shootouts and summer league..........almost too busy.

The Eagles might have a little trouble scoring inside. If Coach Fitch can take advantage of the speed they have and get a little more offense in transition that won't be an issue. I'm not to familiar with the summer schedule PJ runs, but it doesn't seem out of the ordinary. They probably go 5 nights a week between open gym,the jackson summer league and shootouts. They might have a couple 6day weeks if you count saturday shootouts. Does anyone know where they are going to camp this year?

It might be really worth a trip when they play Minford, I think I'll make the trip out for that one, anyone have the schedule to know when they will play?

How was their scrimmage with Wellston and Piketon?

They held there own . Showed improvement on "d" which is important. They can score from anywhere with Lands,Lightle,Fultz,and Thacker in the back court rotation and the front court is really working hard in the paint Pickett,Murrphy,Freemontand,Dyke. There going to be fun to watch.

Brandon Murphy is a player that would help the Eagles tremendously if he develops a little more this summer. He stepped up in several games this past season with solid defense and rebounding with Billy Lykins on the bench in foul trouble. If the coaching staff can polish his post game this summer he could become a huge contributor in the low post and that will let Pickett stay in the high post where he is very effective.

I believe Eastern plays Minford this Tuesday. Not sure of the time though. From what I have been told Eastern needs to improve their defense. It will be interesting to watch Rowe guard Lightle. I think Rowe will win that battle. Has the coach been mixing up the starting line-up to see what five work the best with each other?
