Re: SOC II - Preseason
Is Valley dropping to D4? If so they could be contending for state appearances in the future...doubt they touch that SW squad but they could win one if they drop
Re: SOC II - Preseason
Valley is still D3. They were close to D4 last year, but the count isn't for another year IIRC.JuanMorales wrote:Is Valley dropping to D4? If so they could be contending for state appearances in the future...doubt they touch that SW squad but they could win one if they drop

Waverly did lose a lot from last year, but don't count them out. They will still be a solid team.

They also have several juniors and a sophomore that dressed varsity last year while leading the JV team to an 18-1 record. Those kids include Guards Zach Shope (5'10"), Chris Flowers (5'11") and Ethan Clark-Holbrook (6'1") as well as Forwards Dakota Baker (6'1") and Ryan Brown (6'3"). Plus, Southeast Ohio fans need to get used to the name Bryan Rolfe, a 6'2" Freshman Guard/Forward, who is talented enough to not only start but also put up consistent numbers in all facets of the game. I whole-heartedly expect this team to finish anywhere from 1st to 3rd in the league. They are going to be deep, talented and balanced. And, with only one senior in the top 8-9, the success won't be short lived.
AMEN... And the Miller boys will have 10 fouls to give and will be physical down low giving Dunn a break now and then!!!

If Valley finishes last in the league, I will never post here again.

Re: SOC II - Preseason
I love preseason predictions. Some great reading material here. Whoever has worked hardest in the weight room this year will win the conference. Wait..... this is basketball, not football. :122245
In all seriousness, I know what Minford brings back and they should be near the the top. I think Valley may have an easier transition from football to basketball this year than they did last year because they already have a season under this coaching staff. I know we have some pieces to fill but we did it in football and I actually believe it will be easier to reload in basketball this year than football was. I'm not as familiar with some of the other teams but you can never count out Burg and even Oak Hill for that matter.
So I'm thinking along the lines of
1. Valley
2. Minford
3. Burg
4. Oak Hill
5. Webster
6. Waverly
7. West
8. NW

Re: SOC II - Preseason
Waverly will still be solid. Not sure where they will finish in the league, but they are still very athletic and can shoot the ball. They also had a good bit of height, which surprised me a bit. They are going to be a tough team to beat.
Re: SOC II - Preseason

3. Minford
4. Waverly

8. West
1. Oak Hill

Re: SOC II - Preseason
I think Oakgrad has it right. Burg, minford, Waverly, and the oaks will battle for the title in the top of the conference. South webster, west, and northwest will be in the bottom half.
Re: SOC II - Preseason
Is he talking about McBray (the lineman thats real good) or McKey (the good guard)? I always confuse him with the sophmore Gilligan
