Don't believe sitting two starters for disciplinary reasons helps the team. That isn't fair to the rest of the team and put Belpre in a hole it never could get out of.Discipline those players in practice and don't hurt the rest of the team in the games.

Cadets sure need to get more shooters involved or its gonto be a long season...

Nick and Pettinger sat literally 2 possessions and FF drilled to 3s to start the game 6-0 then they subbed in.

Fort Frye came out hot just draining 3 pointers.Smith was unguardable for 1st qt scoring 16.Then Belpre adjusted going to a box in 1.They probably would of won the game but Dakota Hoffman fouled out with 6 mins left.FF then pressed causing many turnovers.FF missed a ton of 4th qt fts.Everytime they had it to 6 -7 points Belpre would edge back.Nick Terriaiult missed a 3 at the buzzer that would have tied it.

I support Thornhill's decision to not start Therriault and Pittenger. Rules are rules, regardless of who you are, and if a player misses practice then the rules should apply to everyone. They only sat for two possessions anyways, so it's not like that was the deciding factor of the game.
Belpre did a good job of bouncing back after a slow start. They held Fort Frye to two points for the entire third quarter and held Smith to 7 points the second half and only two field goals.
Good job to both teams on a good game and good luck the rest of the season!

I totally agree that rules are rules and all should have to follow them and pay a price for breaking them. But the price shouldn't be a punishment for the rest of the team also. The discipline should be the same for all of the team but it should be in a form where it penalizes the individuals involved and not the entire team in their quest to win games. The Eagles did make a great effort to comeback and win but the poor start was just to much to overcome. Just my opinion.GREGG811 wrote:I agree, rules are rules, if you don't abide by the then you pay the piper. Go EAGLES!!!

Another coach @ BHS has always said, I am not punishing the kids that miss practice, but rewarding the ones that were there. I dont think by having a different starting 5, would have made much of a difference last night. 1st half belpre couldnt get a basket, and everything FF put up went in. But what a game it was for the start of the season.

Heard this AM from the brain trust at Hardee's that FF had a little ref help. Good for the 5 that worked hard enough to start but it's not important who starts but who finishes. Good Luck Coach Thornhill and team. Just looked at the schedule and Belpre only has 8 home games, get out and support the team.
