Will Blizzard Cause Cancellations?
Here we go with the nasty weather and possible cancellations. If you want, you can list the postponed games here.
Re: Will Blizzard Cause Cancellations?
Not sure you can call it a blizzard. 1-3 inches but the the roads are pretty good this morning and all schools in the local area here are on time for school in Athens County. I'm sure there will be some, but not tons.

The only thing I hate about teams/schools postponing games is that they don't wait ...big wrote:meigs vs athens is canceled
so many times I have seen them jump the gun, cancel a game - and by 5:00 all the roads are clear and everyone is traveling like any normal day.

As of now, this game is still on. However, per Matt Combs, VC and Alex are going to "talk again" at 2PM and a final decision will be made then.KrAm wrote:Anyone know about Vinton County @ Alexander?

Unbelievabale ... a 'common sense' approach to a problem?Ty Webb wrote:As of now, this game is still on. However, per Matt Combs, VC and Alex are going to "talk again" at 2PM and a final decision will be made then.KrAm wrote:Anyone know about Vinton County @ Alexander?
such a lost art in this country these days.
Re: Will Blizzard Cause Cancellations?
Just out and about in the Hocking/athens co. area and the roads are clear and traveling the speed limit! When I was in school it took 4-6 inches to even begin to consider closing school and cancelling games back in the early 70's!
Re: Will Blizzard Cause Cancellations?
It is most definitely an administrative problem. Superintendents, principals, and athletic directors. Coaches , kids, parents, and fans want to play!!!!!!

Jottings,
I haven't heard anything yet and I'm due on a bus at 3:15 so I'm assuming we're still on for tonight.

It's called lawsuits guys. Nobody wants to risk any type of accident and the lawsuit that comes next. Sorry to say but that's just the way it is.

If the roads are clear - there is no difference between driving to a game tonight or if its 70 degrees and sunny.
I was just on Rt. 33 ... the drive to Athens from The Plains was the same as it was yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that.
