Wellston @ Nelsonville 2/1

Post by freethrow »

What in the world went on there last night. Someone said they shot 92 free throws and a Wellston player ejected! 92 that may be some sort of record.

Nelsonville York 72
Wellston 65

... how many ways can you spell "UGLY" ?!! 57 fouls called on the night, 90 foul shots taken by the two teams combined, 2 technical fouls called, 4 players fouled out of the game, a section of Wellston fans were tossed from the gym, exiting Wellston fans that were tossed flying the bird without a license ... in the middle of all of this there was a high school basketball game played tonight ... Coach Kline's Buckeyes led at all of the quarter breaks 13-11 after one, 25-20 at the intermission, 44-40 after three, and the all important final period Nelsonville York 72 Wellston 65 a final ...

... Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Wellston ...

Scoring : Dakota Brown 24, Andrew Richards 10, Justus Ousley 10, Toriano Smith 6, Colton Ervin 6, Lane Bunnell 6, Braydon Womeldorf 3

3 pointers : 3/13 ... Ervin/Brown/Womeldorf 1 each

FT's : 22/42

TOs : 29

Fouls : 33

... Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Nelsonville York ...

Scoring : Emmitt Reed 16, Jacob Blake 11, Josh Fayette 10, Marc Carter 10, Jay Elliott 8, Clint Handa 7, Colt Adams 5, Cody Walker 5, Joey young 1

3 Pointers: 2/21 ... Adams 1,Carter 1

FT's : 28/48 ... 18/24 in the 4th quarter

TO's : 19

Fouls : 24

... Nelsonville York was outsized by the Wellston bigs 6-6, 6-6, 6-3, 6-2 with bulk to boot ... in quarter one it looked like the WHS size WAS going to be a "BIG" factor in this one, the NY athletes battled in the paint all night before getting the edge when Ousley for WHS picked up the 2 technicals - advantage Buckeyes the rest of the game as NY out hustled the remaining bigs in the paint , NY made enough FTs to forge a double digit lead in the 4th that was enough to pick up the "W" ... Coach Kline played 10, NY had great balance in scoring as 9 players dented the scoring column ...

44 free throws made is the record for a team. Pretty sad both teams shot 50%

Not that I think its appropriate to be posted on the board, but if someone who was there, could PM me as to what crew worked that game and what actually happened, I'd appreciate it.

Seems pretty sad when an officiating crew calls that many fouls and seemingly looses complete control of the game.

Where's Buchtel?
Sounds like a West Virginia crew may have blew the whistles for this game!
90 fouls wow! Does an ejected player have to miss the next game in Ohio?
Game must have took forever to play.
